I have a mostly furnished double room with private bathroom available from 24th January, in a quiet, well-kept flat in Old Market.

Bills: Included, except electricity

Length: Start with a 3-month trial period, then check in together
Couples: Welcome for a short-term period for £850 pcm

The flat
This is a non-smoking home with a calm, respectful atmosphere. I’m keen to maintain a quiet, low-key space, so noise is kept to a minimum.
Shared areas (kitchen, hallway, lounge) are communal and we share responsibility for keeping them clean and tidy. I provide cleaning products.
Overnight guests are welcome with prior agreement and mutual consideration.
Pets: May be considered on a case-by-case basis with a higher deposit, for a small, well-trained, fully house-trained pet only. I’m looking for a very responsible, mindful owner — pets must not damage furniture, have accidents in the flat, or disrupt the calm, clean nature of the home.

About me
I’m 40, work for a couple of charities, and lead a fairly active, busy life. I’m an early riser, primarily vegetarian, and enjoy cooking. I value a home that feels settled and easy — somewhere you can relax, chat, and occasionally share a meal if schedules align.
I don’t drink often, but might have a glass now and then, especially over food.

Who this would suit
I’m looking for one reliable, considerate person who:
- Has a routine and their own life
- Is clean and tidy in shared spaces
- Works mainly outside the home (not full-time WFH)
- Enjoys a quiet, non-party household
- Is respectful of a mostly vegetarian, health-conscious home
- Is communicative — if something’s bothering you, I’d much rather talk about it
This won’t suit someone into partying, drugs, or a high-traffic household.
