Description
Looking for a house mate (no couples sorry) to move in end of November.
About the house:
It’s a 2 double bedroom house with a lovely open plan kitchen/dining/living room with a small front garden and a good-sized back garden with a great view of Bristol. There's also a small spare room, which has a futon in should we have guests, and is otherwise used as a laundry room/office. There is no tumble dryer, so we dry laundry in there with a dehumidifier in the winter.
I've been living in the house for a few years now, and it very much feels like home. The house is furnished but the available room is unfurnished, however, it has large built-in mirrored wardrobes across one wall.
There is also an attic which can be used for some storage. It’s a private rental and I’ve found the landlord to be really helpful when needed and respectful of our privacy when planning necessary visits.
About me:
I’m 42 and work as a community Occupational Therapist 9-5 Mon-Fri. I spilt my hours between the office, home working and community visits. I'm looking for someone that also works 9-5.
I love music and get out to clubs (mainly techno/ambient electronic) or gigs (alternative) a few times a month. I'm at an age where I don't want to have to hide how I live, so hopefully the associated partying culture is not an issue. I go to local talks and exhibitions, visit friends and eat out occasionally. If not out socialising, then I do enjoy a fairly chilled home environment, though I occasionally have a social here :)
I love listening to music, watching movies/documentaries (Mubi/you tube), nts and 9128 radio, podcasts and reading, bit of an information junkie with poor recall (dyslexia/adhd) so you’ll be up for discussions about the world but have low expectations of me 😊 I’m liberal in my views and open minded, but anti pseudoscience and am generally a rational thinker and lover of science and critical thinking. I enjoy eating healthily and maintaining my fitness, to balance out my otherwise hedonistic lifestyle.
I would consider myself a grounded, considerate, fun/outgoing person and I’m keen to live with someone on a similar wavelength. Also, good communication skills are a must! I like a good natter but also really like my own space when needed.
I’m not a great sleeper, so you’ll be cool with being super quiet if you’re up first or back late etc. I of course will return this etiquette.
I have a good social circle in Bristol and do have people over sometimes, however, not if this is not suitable for my housemate, and I would request the same consideration in return.
About you:
I’m ideally looking for someone 30+ with similar interests/outlook, that is looking to move in preferably for the long term that works a similar schedule. You’re clean and tidy and happy to contribute equally for shared products and home maintenance. You deal with household issues in a calm and respectable manner and are generally accountable, honest and emotionally mature.
Maybe you like to party too but maintain a healthy balance with it like I do.
About the area:
The house is 30 mins walk from the centre and sandwiched between Perret’s and Victoria Park (both less than 5 min walk away) also a few mins walk from several bus routes. It's a lovely and pretty safe area with good parking.
Rent is £570 and bills average around £200 each (this may go up in the current climate of course) deposit will be 5 weeks rent plus some admin fees.
I’ll be arranging viewings and a meet to see if the house and us would be a good match. If you're interested, please send me a bit about yourself and what you're looking for.
LGBTQ+ friendly.
Thanks, Kate :)
