Description
Looking for a house mate (no couples sorry) to move in mid to end of august, can stretch to end of September at the latest.
About the house:
It’s a 2 double bedroom house with a lovely open plan kitchen/dining/living room with a small front garden and a good-sized back garden with a great view of Bristol. There's also a small spare room with a bed in for guests, and is otherwise used as a laundry room as there is no tumble dryer, so we dry laundry in there in the winter.
I've been living in the house for about four years now, and it very much feels like home. I've furnished the house, but the available room is unfurnished, however, it has large built-in mirrored wardrobes across one wall. A few doors have been removed in the middle where the previous occupant had their tv.
There is also an attic which can be used for storage. It’s a private rental and I’ve found the landlord to be really helpful when needed and respectful of our privacy when planning necessary visits.
About me:
I’m 44 and work as a community Occupational Therapist 9-5 Mon-Fri. I spilt my hours between the office, home working and community visits.
I love music and get out to clubs (mainly techno/ambient/electronic) or gigs (alternative) a few times a month. Party girl but like a fairly chilled home. I'm learning the piano (slowly), there's a digital one in the lounge which I have headphones for. I go to local talks and exhibitions, visit friends and eat out occasionally.
I love listening to music, watching movies/documentaries, listening to radio and podcasts and reading, bit of an information junkie with poor recall (dyslexia/adhd). I’m liberal in my views and open minded, but anti pseudoscience and am generally a rational thinker and lover of science and critical thinking. I follow current affairs and believe in social justice. I enjoy eating healthily and maintaining my fitness, to balance out my otherwise slightly hedonistic lifestyle. I love to laugh and be silly.
I would consider myself a considerate, kind, fun and outgoing person, and I’m keen to live with someone on a similar wavelength. Also, good communication skills are a must! I like a good natter but also really like and need my own space at times. I'm not a great sleeper, so you’ll be cool with being quiet if you’re up first or back late etc. I of course will return this etiquette.
I have a good social circle in Bristol and do have people over sometimes, however, not if this is not suitable for my housemate, and I would request the same consideration in return.
About you:
I’m ideally looking for someone 30+ with a similar outlook/interests, that is looking to move in preferably for the long term. You’re clean and tidy and happy to contribute equally for shared products and home maintenance. You deal with household issues in a calm and respectable manner and are generally accountable, honest and emotionally mature. You're a considerate and kind individual. Maybe you like to party too but maintain a healthy balance with it like I do.
About the area:
The house is 30 mins walk from the centre and sandwiched between Perret’s and Victoria Park (both less than 5 min walk away) also a few mins walk from several bus routes. It's a lovely and pretty safe area with good parking.
Rent is £610pm and bills average around £240 each (this may go up in the current climate of course, although planning to review them all over the next month as well) deposit will be 5 weeks rent plus some admin fees.
I’ll be arranging viewings and a meet or phone/video call to see if the house and us would be a good match. If you're interested, please send me a bit about yourself and what you're looking for.
Thanks, Kate :)
