Description
Please note: The householder has expressed a preference to share her home with a female Homesharer.
This Homeshare opportunity is with an active, friendly older lady living in a beautiful home in a picturesque Buckinghamshire village. She is looking for a kind, reliable person to share her home and provide companionship, reassurance and a friendly presence within the household.
The householder in her 70s enjoys an active lifestyle. She loves gardening, wildlife, history, reading the newspapers, walking several miles each day and watching sport, documentaries and dramas. She describes herself as a real people person who enjoys conversation and likes to keep busy.
The arrangement is centred around companionship, practical support and peace of mind rather than personal care.
In return for low-cost accommodation, the householder would appreciate approximately 10 hours of support per week. This may include:
* Providing companionship and social interaction.
* Being present in the home overnight (support is not required overnight, simply a reassuring presence in the property).
* Helping with simple meal preparation, such as peeling vegetables.
* Providing occasional lifts to local shops or appointments if convenient.
* Helping with technology from time to time.
* Light practical support around the home.
The arrangement is flexible and focused on creating a mutually beneficial living arrangement.
Accommodation
The property is located in a desirable Buckinghamshire village, approximately a 10-minute walk from local shops, cafés, community facilities and a railway station. The home has a beautiful garden, driveway parking for several vehicles and internet access.
The successful Homesharer will have:
* A furnished double bedroom.
* Private en-suite shower room.
* Shared use of the kitchen, living room and garden.
* Wi-Fi included.
* Driveway parking.
* Storage space available.
The ideal Homesharer will be:
* Female (as requested by the householder).
* Aged 21+.
* Friendly, kind and respectful.
* Someone who enjoys conversation and spending time with an older person.
* Reliable and able to provide a regular overnight presence in the home.
* Respectful of shared living.
* A non-smoker is preferred, although someone willing to smoke outside would be considered.
* Please note this placement is unlikely to be suitable for someone who regularly works night shifts, as the householder values the reassurance of someone being at home overnight.
The householder is looking for someone who is warm, considerate and happy to become part of a friendly household whilst maintaining their own independence.
Requirements
* A recent DBS certificate (or willingness to apply for one if successful).
* Two satisfactory references covering at least the previous 12 months.
* Completion of the Homeshare application and assessment process, including an interview.
Fees
* £240 per month Homeshare fee.
* £240 refundable deposit.
* £50 DBS fee (where applicable).
* £50 per month contribution towards household bills.
A minimum commitment of six months is preferred, although longer-term arrangements are welcomed.
How to Apply
If you are interested in this Homeshare opportunity, please send us a brief message introducing yourself, outlining your suitability for the role and why you feel you would be a good match for this placement. Suitable applicants will then be invited to complete the Homeshare application process.
