I'm a live-in landlord and there's just me and one lodger (you) in a large spacious 3-bedroom house.
I've been renting out my spare room for over 12 years. Previous lodgers have become lifelong friends, with the longest staying 6 years. But don't worry, I'm not asking you to be my BFF. I just mention it to indicate that I'm a decent person.
I’m looking for a decent person to rent the room for single occupancy. If you have a partner, then of course they can stay occasionally. That's something we'll discuss and agree, as I'm not offering the room to a couple on an on-going basis.
You get use of own bathroom with large double shower or bath. Your room is very well furnished with lots of storage, USB charging sockets, mini-fridge, kettle and orthopaedic mattress.
There's superfast fibre broadband (435mbps both up and down for techies).
The house is in a quiet cul-de-sac with free parking right outside the house. The room has windows at both ends, giving good light and ventilation. Both windows have black-out blinds.
You definitely need a car to live here, as its on top of a steep hill.
On the plus side, you get a great view with red kites flying overhead every day.
I’m 59, a busy person with a variety of interests; I like a happy and calm house. If you're a party animal then this isn't the place for you. I’m very considerate and look for that in others. I'm a decent cook and will happily share meals when it suits us both.
Only non-smokers please. (This is essential please, as even if you smoke outside, that doesn't work for me).
I care about the environment, so efficiency and recycling are important to me. I've recently ditched the gas boiler for an air source heat pump. The house is always warm and cosy.
