Description

Property details:

The house is nested in a quiet valley of the Chiltern Hills, a ten minute walk from the local village, Wendover, with easy access to beautiful local walks (the Chilterns are officially designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty) and plenty of good local facilities. Wendover is well connected, hosting a range of bars, cafes and restaurants. It has two local supermarkets (there is a Budgens that supports local suppliers and a small Tescos, both a ten min. walk), as well as good public transport connection to other local towns and villages via bus, and a regular Chiltern Line train to central London (Marylebone). What we love about Wendover - and hope you will too - is the way it combines the spaciousness and freedom of being in the countryside without compromising connection to important facilities or social life... But London is only forty-five minutes away by train if you're after something higher voltage!

Room details:

The room itself is an ensuite, situated in a quiet corner at the back of the house with a south-facing window, welcoming plenty of natural light year-round. The view looks out onto our back garden and birds of all kinds are regular visitors (kites, tits, various thrushes, doves, blackbirds, perhaps even a jay if you're lucky!). The room has a good amount of storage space (built-in wardrobe, chest of drawers, bedside table and a dressing table), three double plug points, one single, a TV aerial, and a comfy King size Hypnos mattress.

House facilities:

Besides your room, you'll have access to our kitchen and a comfy conservatory living area which opens out onto the patio and garden. Come summer it's a lovely spot to enjoy the garden and the birds in the sun, with a drink. There's free parking at the side of the house and safe storage options for bikes or motorbikes. You'll also have access to our fast Wifi, washing machine and drying facilities.

Local amenities, facilities and activities:

Adjacent to Walnut Tree Meadow, the house has doorstep access to great walks which link up to the Wendover Arm of the Grand Union Canal and, further on, Weston Turville reservoir. Go a little further and you can walk (or cycle or drive) up to Wendover Woods and Coombe Hill which are more popular and famous walking sites. Wendover Woods has a recently refurbished cafe which we can recommend, as well as an adventure centre, Go Ape! The village has some really good cafes, bars and restaurants which we can also suggest as and when you request.

Final information:

This vacancy would suit a clean and tidy professional who is used to living with others, and is respectful and courteous towards them. Success of the application would be subject to the usual checks, as well as an interview where we can get to know one another a bit better, and see if the arrangement will work.

If you would like to move in as a couple, this is something we would consider.
