We have a beautiful bungalow in Chesterton. It's just a 2-minute walk from the River Cam and the picturesque Stourbridge Common, a 10-minute cycle to the city centre and a 5-minute cycle to North Cambridge train station.
The house has a large kitchen and living area with views of the main garden, a laundry room, an entryway, a toilet and a separate shower room. There is also a shed for bikes and other storage. The garden is spacious, with a grassy area, a porch and plenty of space for gardening.
The available bedroom is medium-sized (approximately 15 square metres) with a beautiful view of the garden. It is fully furnished with a single bed, a chest of drawers, a bedside table and two large built-in closets. Bedding and towels are provided if needed. There is space if you want to incorporate a desk into the room.
My partner and I are professionals who work in Cambridge in the conservation and environmental fields. We occupy a separate bedroom within the same bungalow. We enjoy outdoor activities such as hiking, cycling, and gardening, but also indoor activities such as watching movies and cooking international food.
We’re looking for a flatmate for a short-term stay (e. g. visiting researcher/student, short-term professional placement, etc), who values shared spaces and is respectful and responsible when it comes to tidying up and participating in household tasks. We would like someone who embraces shared living, enjoys occasional socializing (having dinners, or getting outs for a drink), and respects others' need for solitude when needed.
If you enjoy gardening, during spring and summer, you can help out with the garden tasks and enjoy organic vegetables from our vegetable patch. This space is ideal for someone looking for a quiet, cozy and green environment.
We will share the bills for gas, electricity, water and internet, and council tax (band D).
The room will be available from February 2026 (the start date is flexible). At the moment we’re looking for a short-term let until around May 2026, but those dates are flexible too, and we’re happy to consider even shorter stays.
