An friendly older person with poor eye sight and reduced mobility is seeking a Sharer for
their home to give them a mix of 15 hours’ help and company each week in exchange for the low-cost accommodation. This person would value the friendly reassurance and company of having someone around
their home in the evenings and overnight. They would also like some general practical help around the home such as picking up shopping, cooking a few meals each week, light cleaning and tidying, laundry, carrying heavier items, and ad hoc practical help and errands as may be needed.

The accommodation on offer is a furnished double bedroom and shared use of the new wet room plus the sitting room, kitchen and garden.

The property is in an excellent location just 8 minutes’ walk from Cambridge Station, 5 mins
walk from the Number 2 bus route, 25 mins walk (10 mins cycle) from Cambridge City
Centre and 5 minutes cycle to the university.

The person used to love cooking and was very sociable – and has a close family – but due to poor eyesight finds it difficult to watch TV and get out and about. They enjoy music
(especially Greek music). Until a few years ago they were very fit and active, including
cycling, but again, poor eyesight has made it harder to get out and about. They love
company and built good friendships with lodgers in the past. They don’t have pets
themselves but their daughter visits with her two small dogs.

As a Sharer you are free to work or study as long as you have enough spare time to give
the agreed level of company and support. The ideal Sharer will be a positive, friendly, kind, helpful and reliable non-smoker who ideally shares some of the person’s interests.
