Description
(Please note that the photos are from last year, pre current tenant — the updated photos will be available after they move out at some point at the end of May. Please feel free to approach with questions - I will honestly tell you both the possible downsides and the many advantages of the place)
On the 15th of June (and potentially earlier, TBC), the double room on the 1st floor will become available.
I am a young professional working at the UniOfCam fulltime, I socialise a lot outside of the house and occasionally invite people over, at home I mostly keep to myself and get my rest quietly, but it doesn't mean I can imagine being strangers with the new housemates, it will be important for me that we can get along.
The other tenant is also a young professional, working in the literary field. She is also likely to be out odd nights of the week working or socialising, but is quiet and keeps to herself when staying in. Loves reading and art!
I cannot recommend the property enough! I have spent more than 3 years here and have grown quite attached. (just wait till spring when the cherry tree in the garden blooms!)
Being a two bedroom house originally, it has been converted into a 3 bedroom* one by us - by placing an additional bed in the shared common room area. That is the bed I have been occupying and plan to going forward as well. This does not mean that the living room is off limits - the people I share a house with are welcome to have their meals at the dining table there, invite their friends for board games etc. as long as the more disturbing activities are coordinated with me.
The place has been renovated not that long ago, has good central gas heating, has been kept clean and tidy and I would love to keep it that way!
Our landlord is very nice and responsive. This is a semi-detached house, with the landlord living across the wall.
The place is fully furnished, including all the necessary kitchen equipment: cooking pans, utensils, glassware, dishes etc (but some of the smaller furniture from the double room will be taken away - please ask!).
In term of appliances: washing machine with a drier function, electric hob + oven, dishwasher, toaster.
A nice shared bathroom where you don't need to worry about mold!
We have been keeping our bikes in the garden - we don't lock them, and there hasn't been any issues in the past 3 years.
In general our requirements towards a new tenant would be for us to match value wise, respect each others' boundaries, be able to communicate when issues arise and ideally carry on with the current regular tidy-up schedule.
Council tax band: C
Broadband is covered by the rent, but other bills aren't. They usually amount to around 110 pounds per person monthly (winter time, less in other seasons)
