Description

We are looking for a respectful professional or postgraduate student to join our flat, in a leafy green location near the city centre, overlooking a beautiful tended common garden. The room available is a double bedroom with ensuite, located on the 2nd floor, with lift access.

Your housemates will be:
Chris - Works in immersive heritage. In residence full-time, often working from home.
John - Biostatistician who travels frequently, so only in residence part-time.

Southacre Drive is a mixture of University of Cambridge and private apartments. Our neighbours are a quiet and easygoing crowd, mostly consisting of postgraduates, young professionals, and retirees.

We are lucky enough that our flat is shaded by tall evergreen trees so stays reasonably cool in the hot weather, and has had upgraded central heating and hot water fitted recently so is warm in the winter. A private balcony overlooks the common garden, which is open to all flats, and the large living room is surrounded by a treetop view.

We have a spacious kitchen with recently updated fittings, and a single allocated parking space which is shared between the current residents, plus additional parking two minutes' walk away in the private overflow car park. Covered bike storage is just outside.

For commuters, the flat is very well positioned for both the central train station (10min cycle) and the M11 motorway (10min drive), and is close to a direct bus service to the West Cambridge Site and Biomedical Campus.

Locally, we are an easy 20 minute walk away from the city centre, and very close to the Botanic Gardens and Fitzwilliam Museum. The nearest shop is a 15 minute walk away, and a park with cafe, cycle tracks, and a kayak club is just around the corner.

We share bills evenly, which typically sum to around £170/month each depending on usage. Our letting agent and landlord have been responsive at dealing with any issues we have encountered, which have typically been resolved within a few days or weeks.

We're looking for someone who wants their home to be a quiet retreat, rather than a party house, and we expect a reasonable, shared contribution to the upkeep of the common areas.
