Good quality central Cambridge edwardian house

I am the retired, live-in owner of a lovely Edwardian house in one of the most desirable areas of central Cambridge - a ten minute walk to the rail/coach stations, historic city centre, colleges and a minute's walk from cosmopolitan Mill Road with its independent cafes and restaurants. Despite its central location, the area is very quiet.

I have for many years rented rooms to visiting academics, scholars and medics. Since 2015 I have used the Airbnb platform (where I have over 150 positive reviews and have been awarded "Superhost" status for the past five years).

From 26 July - mid Dec 2024 I will be looking for short term lodgers.

You will be sharing the house with me and my part time lodger who stays 3 -4 nights / week but always goes back to his home in London at weekends.

To maintain the gender balance, I am ideally looking for a female.

The double bedroom is on the first floor. It has a double bed, wardrobe, built in shelves, chest of drawers, decent sized desk (which looks out onto the garden) and office swivel chair.

There is a communal sitting room, dining room and patio area. The kitchen is fully equipped.

There is just one bathroom/toilet but this isn't a problem so long as residents are aware of each others' schedules, especially in the morning.

There is garden space at the front of the house to park a bike.

My street is residents' parking only.

I charge a small returnable £25 deposit to cover breakages, lost keys , wrecked bed linen and towels etc. Room rent is payable monthly in advance by cash, paypal or bank transfer. Preference will be given to individuals who can provide references

The room is SINGLE occupancy only - generally, I do not allow overnight guests, unless agreed in advance and for whom there will be an nominal additional night charge.

Quiet time is between 10pm - 8am.
