A home with your own double room

Want a place to call home rather than just a room to rent? We are looking for a new housemate for our semi-detached home with garden and cats, near Aldi (important local landmark!) and 10 minutes’ walk from Cambridge city centre.

Your future room: Unfurnished double room (Queen size bed+mattress £150 negotiable). Room measures approx. 7.5m2. Built-in cupboard/wardrobe.

The rest of the place: Fully furnished living room (featuring the Surprisingly Comfortable Big Ugly Brown Sofa), bathroom (extra-large bathtub with shower) and kitchen (including waffle maker and dishwasher), big loft. Big garden (front and back), patio, greenhouse, barbecue, locked shed for bikes. You’ll share the house with two humans, two cats (free-roaming) and a snake (not free-roaming).

Your future housemates: We’ve been living and working in Cambridge several years. Some days we enjoy doing stuff together: watching stuff, going for a walk/run/cycle, cooking/drinking/barbecues, weekend trips, holidays. Other days we all do our own thing and understand that everyone needs a bit of time to themselves sometimes. We’re not clean freaks but we are considerate and have a loose weekly cleaning rota. We also look after the garden and do a bit of house DIY as and when.

We are looking for: Someone in their mid-20s to early 40s with experience of living in a houseshare. If you are interested in a space to share and take care of, rather than just a room to live in, this might be for you.

Rent: £433 per month
Bills: £110 per month (council tax, utilities, wifi) includes a buffer so usually works out less
Deposit: £404

Contract: 6 months, converts into a monthly rolling afterwards, signed directly with our lovely landlords. Requires proof of legally residing in the UK (passport or visa), and a proof of working or salary.
