Description
We have a big double room available from 12 December in our friendly house. You’d be sharing with two of us. Sophie recently finished her PhD here in Cambridge and is now working at the Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology. Steph hails from Australia and also works at MAA. We’re clean, tidy, and always up for a chat, but respectful of each other’s need for space too. We both have our own lives but would like to keep a homely vibe in the house and are certainly up for an occasional pub quiz or coffee! We’re looking for someone who is friendly, tidy, and of similar age (25-35ish).
The house is in a really nice area. We have great neighbours; are just around the corner from an Aldi, Co-op, and pharmacy; are located just a short cycle from town or the West Cambridge Site; and there’s a direct bus into the centre or to the train station from the end of the street. There’s a lovely sunny garden that Sophie has been growing vegetables in and a garage for storing bikes, etc. There’s also space for parking. We have a nice bathroom with a great shower. We also have a washer-dryer and a dehumidifier to help dry clothes. We have one fridge-freezer in the kitchen and another in the garage. As both of us work full-time, we are up from 7am and like to keep the house quiet by 11pm.
The room itself is very big. It is fully furnished with a double bed, wardrobe, shelves, and a desk and office chair. It’s on the ground floor, with its door next to the staircase.
We have a nice landlord who responds very quickly if there are any issues. Our new lease comes into effect on 12 December, so you would need to be able to sign by then. It would be for an initial three-month period, with a rolling contract after that. We usually budget bills at about £180 per month (on top of rent), and this includes a fortnightly cleaner and Council Tax Band D payments.
If it sounds like you’d be a good fit, then get in touch! Tell us a little something about yourself: what you’ll be doing in Cambridge, how long you’re looking to stay here, when you can come to see the room, etc.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
