Free room for household help exchange

We’re a friendly, busy family of four looking for the right person to join our home. We have two daughters aged 2 and 4 and are offering a room in exchange for help around the house.
The room would typically rent for £800/month, but instead we’re offering reduced or fully offset rent in exchange for approximately 12 hours of household help per week.
Household support would mainly include:
• Dishes and kitchen tidying
• Laundry
• General tidying
• Cleaning

There is also potential for additional paid hours (£15–18/hour depending on experience) for:
• Additional household help
• School/nursery drop-offs and pick-ups
• Occasional childcare support
• Light family cooking

Our ideal arrangement would be around 2 hours per day across 6 days, but timing and structure are very flexible — we care much more about finding the right person than sticking to a rigid schedule.

This could work particularly well for:
• A postgraduate or mature student
• Someone working flexible hours
• Someone who enjoys family life and wants affordable accommodation in exchange for practical help

We’re open to discussing different combinations too — for example:
• Fewer help hours with some rent payable, or
• More paid household support if mutually helpful.

In terms of the room – it’s a lovely double room with a table, chair, fantastic mattress. The house has is spacious and there is a lovely garden. Its in the heart of Chesterton and town is very easily accessible.
