Description
Nicely furnished room available in modern detached house in Stukeley Meadows, Huntingdon.
Smokers prohibited, no exceptions, even if you'll never smoke inside the house.
There is a separate bathroom for use by just yourself and one other housemate, which also houses a shower/bath shared by yourself and two other housemates. There is a ceiling fan too which is a life saver in summer. The room is on the 2nd floor with a key lock for your security. I also work remotely so that's an additional layer of security as there is almost always someone in the house. The room has a radiator with thermostatic dial and all the windows are double glazed, during winter things are super comfortably warm (if you wish) as I have a new heat pump to make the hot water on cheap electricity during off peak hours. Your room also has two pairs of two power sockets in convenient places.
High speed wireless broadband is also included in the price, as is council tax, water, electricity, etc.
There are two personal cupboards for only you, and a separate fridge in the kitchen for you and two other housemates to share (we've never had space problems with it). Most other equipment is shared. There are two freezers between the four housemates (no history of space issues either).
There is a separate dining room, a garage for keeping a bicycle and conservatory to the garden, for use by all. There is also plenty long term storage space with an attic and storage space above the garage.
There is a utility area with a washing machine and separate dryer along with extra shelving.
The room itself has a solid single bed, a wardrobe, a chest of drawers, a work table, a swivel chair and a bedside unit, all in good condition.
There is street parking directly outside the front door and the house is a 20-25 minute walk from the Train Station or the Town Centre as well as having easy access to the A14/A1.
I seek a long term tenant, someone who lives quietly and well with others, a good neighbour. I keep the rent very reasonable to foster a long term relationship and make up for the less than tidy house. I don't expect you to clean up after others, but you are expected to clean up after yourself (excluding the odd crumb here and there).
We have a few small house rules e. g. quiet after 10pm and near silence after 11pm.
I mostly manage things like taking out the rubbish/bins, I may ask you to handle them a few times a year (due to me not always being around).
You are expected to recycle, and not put trash in the recycling.
We have an anonymous virtual suggestions/complaint box, never seen use but feel comfortable knowing you have an outlet to fix issues you don't like that might feel uncomfortable to raise to me directly (as a tenant myself not long ago I hope to make a good value for price environment for all my lodgers and listen to their wishes and complaints).
Whilst you are allowed visitors, I expect them at most twice a month, and they must not be rowdy. Being considerate of shared spaces especially.
