We have a fully furnished double room available in our modern home in Trumpington. We are a husband and wife and live in the property, so this is a landlord-living-in arrangement rather than a typical house share.

The bedroom is light, bright and airy and is furnished with a king-size bed, wardrobe, desk, bedside table and full-length mirror.

We are both friendly and approachable and are always happy to have a chat, but we want to be upfront that this isn't a traditional sociable house share where everyone spends their evenings together. The living room is our private space and isn't shared, giving everyone a good balance of privacy and independence.

I am naturally quite introverted and value having my own space, and we both lead busy lives, so the house is generally very quiet. I work Monday–Friday, 9–5 (NHS) but am often out of the house for longer. I regularly go to the gym, enjoy hiking and we make frequent use of our camper-van, so I'm often out and about. My husband works in hospitality in the afternoons and evenings across a 7-day period.

We would therefore suit someone who is independent, respectful and comfortable with a quieter household, while still appreciating having friendly landlords who are happy to chat when we're around.

The location makes it particularly convenient for anyone working at the Biomedical Campus, Addenbrooke's, Papworth or elsewhere in Cambridge, while also being ideal if you enjoy getting out into the countryside.

We are currently looking after our daughter's two dogs – a German Shepherd and a German Short haired Pointer. Both are very friendly and well behaved, although the German Shepherd is a big dog and can understandably be a little daunting initially!

They will eventually be returning to our daughter once she is permanently settled, as she is currently travelling with work. She occasionally comes home at the weekend, and is independent and respectful.
