I have a double room available for a young professional worker. I'm offering the room at £720 pcm (a small increase since the previous listing, due to a price rise in bills). The room is available for a 6 month let initially, with the possibility of an extension. The room is also available for shorter-term lets (1 month min).

The property is a new-build in the Trumpington Meadows development to the south-west of Cambridge. The house is a five minute walk from the Trumpington Park and Ride, with very frequent buses into central Cambridge, as well as the Guided Busway services to Addenbrooke's Hospital and the railway station. Ideal for someone working at the Addenbrooke's site, and also for someone who needs to be able to reach the railway station or the city centre. I have a lockable shed and garage with space for bikes. There is no longer any parking space available, as the council have introduced restrictions on the streets.

The room is fully-furnished with a new double bed and mattress, and new chest of drawers and wardrobe. The bathroom is shared, but only with the landlord. There is high quality Virgin TV and broadband, gas central heating, a fully fitted kitchen, and a shared lounge. All areas (beyond bedrooms) of the house will be communal.

The area is a quiet residential one, and is adjacent to the beautiful Trumpington Meadows country park, and Byron's Pool local nature reserve. The nearest supermarket is a Sainsbury's local 2 minutes walk away, and there is a large Waitrose, only 5-10 minutes walk away. Trumpington itself is a small suburb of Cambridge, with three pubs, a restaurant, a couple of takeaways, a GP surgery, barbers and post-office.

I'm a gay man, who has lived in Cambridge for 7 years. I am a professional who works on the Addenbrooke's site. The other family members are two 6 year old miniature whippets (see pictures), who are extremely sweet-natured and are very well-trained. As they are short-haired, there is little to no shedding, and no doggy smell about the place.

I am seeking a fun, cultured housemate with whom I can happily socialise, but who is also happy with their own space and time.
