Description
We are looking for people to join our emerging communal houseshare for a year until Feb 2026 (potentially longer)
We're a group of housemates who enjoy sharing delicious vegetarian meals, collaborating on house and garden maintenance and development, spending some social time together and supporting one another with personal and spiritual growth.
If you're looking for more than just a place to live, if you're drawn to connection, contribution interpersonal exploration then please read on to see if we might be a good fit.
🌻 About Our Community
We are Mungo, Sophie and Kat, all in our 30s, and with passion for growing food/agroecology, somatic body work, Nature Connection, Embodiment, Contact Improvisation Dance, the Way of Council, fermenting food and home baked sourdough bread, making music and singing folky harmonies, Celtic Fire Festivals...
We share all groceries and eat evening meals together, taking it in turns to cook for each other. At the moment, most of our fresh veg comes from our kitchen garden. We also have chicken, geese and ducks and a human loving old cat.
We intend to support each others personal and spiritual development and like to be playful and curious in the way we live side by side. We aim to handle any tensions with open hearted conversation and to find calm solutions together. We meet once a week for a sharing and to talk about house related issues.
✨ What We're Looking For
We’re seeking someone community minded, communicative and emotionally mature.
Someone who sees this as a home, not just a place to rent. We value:
✅ Sharing time together, communal meals, community projects, house cleaning, chats over tea and low key hangouts
✅ Cooking for the house roughly once or twice a week
✅ Attending house meetings (weekly)
✅ Willingness to participate in community house cleans, projects, offer input, and sometimes go with the flow
✅ An openness to building something bigger than ourselves
✅ help out in the kitchen garden and land 2hrs per week
Experience in communal living or at least a serious curiosity is a big plus
The House and Land
We live in a large 7-bed room house with 27acres of land around us, several outbuildings (including a cinema cabin). The house itself has very spacious communal rooms, including a living room with wood burner, conservatory hang out area, open plan kitchen, studio for meditating/dancing/council/yoga/bodywork, cabin studio space, cinema cabin. As it is a big old house, tt can get cold in the winter, so the willingness to layer up is important.
The outdoor space include large kitchen garden, ceremonial tree circle, workshop areas, barn, orchard, pasture, and woodland.
The room
There are two options: either a large room in the converted stable with onsuite bathroom. Slightly higher rent+ extra heating bill (electric heater). Or a normal double room in the house.
Location
Our nearest town is Northwich. Our local train stations are Hartford or Greenbank, with good public transport links to Liverpool (30 mins), Manchester (60 mins), and Crewe (15 mins).
Whilst we are figuring out what to do with house and land, we are committed to being here until February 2026 and, if things turn out fruitful and we have a feeling of landing, expanding and connection to the local community, and good solid plans to create a co-housing set up or something similar, then we will stay here longer term. We currently have external support to creat a vision and proper community structure. So there is a lot happening in terms of visioning, exploring, experimenting and you could be part of these conversations as much or little as you want.
. 📝 How to Apply
If this sounds like a potential fit, please message us through spareroom and include:
•A bit about yourself eg your interests/passions, work, age and what drew you to our community
•Your experience with communal or intentional living
•What you’re seeking in a home/housemates
• What you think you can bring to a community or our community in particular.
•A picture of yourself is helpful but not essential
•Any dietary restrictions or allergies we should know about
