Homesharer Wanted in Plymouth £190 per month in exchanged practical help 10/15 hours each week;

We are looking for a kind, patient and dependable Homesharer to share the comfortable home of an older person in Plymouth.
The Householder is friendly, open-minded and enjoys an active social and cultural life. Her interests include walking, playing the piano, attending local arts events, jazz, classical music and musicals.

The householder shares her home with, a much-loved rescue cat, so the Homesharer must genuinely like cats and be comfortable living with one.

The accommodation
The Homesharer will have a private bedroom, which will be refurnished before moving in. There is space for:
A single bed
A desk
A chest of drawers
Wall hooks or other suitable storage
Where practical, the successful Homesharer will be invited to express preferences regarding the room’s furnishings.

The Homesharer will use the shared bathroom. The Householder has her own en-suite bathroom and only occasionally uses the bath in the shared bathroom.

Homeshare support
In return for affordable accommodation, the Homesharer will provide approximately 10–15 hours of basic Homeshare support each week.
The Householder is flexible about when the support is provided, so it can generally be arranged around the Homesharer’s work, studies and usual routine. She would particularly appreciate a short period of companionship in the morning and evening to talk through the day’s activities and plans.

The agreed support may include:
Friendly companionship and conversation
Brief morning and evening check-ins
Helping to review daily activities and plans
Spending some agreed time together
Light household help
Occasional assistance with simple everyday tasks
Providing a reassuring overnight presence
Other reasonable Homeshare activities agreed in advance

As the Householder no longer drives, a Homesharer who drives and has access to a car would be particularly welcome, although this is not essential. Any occasional help with transport would be discussed and agreed separately.

This is a companionship-based Homeshare arrangement and does not include personal care, nursing care, medication management or professional caring duties.

About the ideal Homesharer
A female Homesharer would be preferred, although applications from suitable male Homesharers will also be considered.

Comfortable communicating with someone who may sometimes repeat herself
Reliable and responsible
Clean and tidy
Respectful of privacy and personal space
Comfortable living with a cat
