Description

Large double room available.
Room suitable for a 7 day or Monday to Friday let including short term placements.

Attic room
A good sized bedroom in the attic with plenty of natural light. The attic room has a very comfortable double bed with memory foam mattress and topper, bedside table, lamp, chest of drawers, a large built- in wardrobe just outside the room (with deep storage space), comfy retro reclining leather chair and footrest. One window faces out toward the views of outskirts of town and fields to the back of the house, with cathedral views to the front and glimpses of bobbing boats on the water in the distance.

The house
This is my lovely 3 bedroom house. You would be sharing with me, the live in landlord who's an SEMH teacher M-F, support worker, reiki master and qualified reflexologist. I'm looking for people who are friendly, kind hearted, tidy, hygienic, clean, aware of themselves and others, considerate with noise levels in the house (I'm not too keen on door slamming and cupboard banging!) and reliable, to share and look after the house like it was theirs. I'm looking for someone who isn't afraid to muck in & keep the house in a nice state for everyone to enjoy iiving in, push a hoover around in their room and communal spaces and who tidy up after themselves as they go.
A kitchen wipe down after use would be expected and appreciated, but I also get a cleaner in every fortnight for a few hours to ease the load a tad for everyone-a contribution of a tenner a month towards this would be kindly requested :)
I've had a house kitty pot on the go too which has worked well for getting in general house admin for everyone to use in the kitchen and around the house (milk, if you're into semi or skimmed, teabags if you like a decent builders brew) and bathroom bits too, all eco-friendly stuff.

The living room has a smart TV with Netflix, amazon prime and catch up; 2 very comfortable sofas, both with newly stuffed feather and memory foam combination seats and some comfy cushions.
There are 2 woodburning stoves, one in the living room and dining room. You're very welcome to use either, as long as stove doors are kept shut during a fire and cleaned after use, logs/coals replaced if finished, to keep us in firewood for the colder nights to come. Woodburners to be swept in very near future too.

The dining room has a big 5ft farmhouse table for leisurely weekend breakfasts, meals or boardgames with wine or whatever tickles your tastebuds and
the kitchen has a slimline dishwasher, fridge freezer, fan oven and microwave. Welcome to bring kitchen stuff if you have it too.

In the back garden is a newly planted beach vibe gravel/pebble garden, soon to have a built bench seating area. There's a pulley washing line in the garden for drying clothes and two outhouses. The 1st outhouse has a loo and is used for storing gardening gear and house admin materials.
The second is a utility room which houses the boiler, a sink, washing machine, tumble drier, 2nd freezer and other necessaries for bin day/recycling. Either outhouse could be used to store some additional stuff if you have a few life extras.

A back gate leads from the garden to a private alleyway, which runs around the back of the terraced houses to the no through road.
Despite being central in Truro my house is in a quiet spot; 5 minutes walk will get you into the city, with an abundance of independent/chain shops, cafes, restaurants and pubs. Sainsbury superstore, Tesco, Waitrose and Aldi are all 5 minutes drive away, with a co-op and M&S around 5 minutes walk into town. There is also a brilliant convenience shop right around the corner, down a side passage.
I'm lucky to live very close to Victoria Gardens - a lovely park at the end of the no through road, a mere 30 seconds walk away, great for taking a cuppa whilst having a stroll or a quiet sit down.

Truro train station is 10-15 min walk (uphill/half mile), connecting you to local and upcountry stations. The train track does pass by the back of the house, although they are infrequent, at slow speeds and stop around 10pm for the night. The bus station in Truro connecting you to the rest of Cornwall and further, is a 10min walk away.

There is currently 1 parking permit available to those with a car, (on road parking), returnable at the end of your stay and I'm offering a 25% discount fee for the permit during your time at the house, permit cost is £50 for the year with discount included. There will also be a £10 admin charge which is given by Cornwall Council, to switch over to new lodgers details. Your car will need to show my home address on your cars V5 and insurance and sent to the council via email BEFORE the permit can be approved, due to the new stricter parking enforcements in place in Truro. Pretty savage but understandable.
I do have visitor permits that can be used whilst this is in process (at a cost of £1 per permit, but it would make it much easier if whoever moved in to get it arranged ahead, or as soon as we agreed on a move in date).

Extra info
This is not a party house but a chilled, sociable spot for someone looking for a relaxing, calm and friendly place to live. The terraced houses are situated in a quiet area with families along the row so it'd be appreciated that this is respected.

Most bills included, although parking, cleaner, kitty and £30 a month towards house bills are separate.

I'm looking for a professional or mature student who ultimately works outside of the home. This is not a space for people who need to work from home, although with recent office restrictions due to covid, this is flexible and can be discussed :)

Additional info -
I'm a teacher who works in SEN units, so my days can be full on, leaving the evenings to recharge and zen out, in the form of some exercise, decent TV, reiki or hand reflexology or a stiff g&t. Work wise I'm sure you're aware, schools are being incredibly rigorous with covid risk assessments and PPE whilst working with students and staff. Additionally, I will soon be working as a support worker on a casual basis. Again, the company I will be working for enforce very strict guidelines around covid before and after working with service users and safety measures are paramount and in place to keep the clients and staff safe.

Some serious house admin to note before you contact me -

**I'm also looking for someone who is covid aware and who can appreciate the need for keeping themselves and those they live with safe, adhering to guidelines around work and limited social movements, respecting that whilst living in my home it wouldn't be acceptable to mix with multiple groups of people, have gf/bf/partners over or have regular stop overs at theirs whilst we're in the current climate and the pandemic is still very much around.
I certainly don't want to restrict anyone's movements but ask that should you be interested in the room, you're acknowledging what I've written here on the importance of your health, my health and that of my family who I will need to see if required (who have been shielding continuously). It's been a very difficult time for many of us over the last few months, so someone who is aware of this and considerate of this, would be greatly appreciated and required.

Sorry to end on a serious note but I feel it's important this is raised ahead of viewing, or for you to consider if this is the place for you, to minimise time wasting for all or conflict of interest down the line.

Happy to answer any questions and thanks for looking,
Ros
