We are Amy and Eartha (10). Our house is about a mile from the edge of town, with the river, foot paths and lovely walks, runs and bike rides on our doorstep, but an easy walk or cycle into town. We’re interested in low impact living (I work for a sustainability charity), gardening, folk music and getting out in the lake district. We are gradually retrofitting our home to improve energy efficiency, most of this is taking place from the outside, but if there are any weeks of disruption, I will reduce the rent on those weeks. Heating and hot water are provided by a heat pump, heating the home to 18 oC from 7am to 10pm.
Our dream lodger would be interested in sustainability and maybe share some of our other interests, be vegetarian (or at least happy not to bring meat or fish into the home), not be upset if a creative project or some retrofit works are taking place sometimes, have a gentle energy, be respectful of everyone living in the home, as we would be of you, go out to work or study at least a few days a week, not want to live in our pockets, but perhaps be open to the occasional shared meal.
Though we appreciate we can’t always have everything we want, so if you’re not an exact match don’t let that stop you getting in touch!
