Oaksure (Property Guardians) is in collaboration with arts charity Proposition Studios and have an excellent property located in Derbyshire. The property is a 10 mins drive and a 20 mins bike or bus ride from (Langley Mill Station) and the bus stop is just a 10 mins walk.

Proposition Studios invites artists and eco-interested people to apply for our new residency in a former school in Derbyshire (30 minutes from Nottingham & Peak District National Park). The Eco-Syntax Residency provides accommodation and large studios for up to 20 creatives, affording time and space for collaboration, project development and practice beyond the pressures of City life. With a focus on questioning the role of The Human As Part Of Ecology, the residency welcomes creatives who are dedicated to re-thinking our relationship with the biosphere.

The residents at the property are deeply interested in communal living and a cooperative lifestyle, including growing food, cooking together, film nights, gardening and outdoor activities. One of their primary focuses is living ecologically within the local community, which is done through means such as creating minimal waste and living off surplus local food. The community aspect fosters collaborative artistic practices as well as sustainable living.

Proposition seeks applications from people who are committed to conscientious, communal living and who will contribute to their community. We need people who can offer their skills and insights and participate in workshops and group events. We seek residents who will be respectful of one another's practices, who are interested in supporting one another and who are excited by working together to develop the space and programme into a vibrant hub, reflective of all those involved.

Residencies are designed to be as affordable and accessible as possible with prices at £400/month for a very large room. All residents will be provided with access to several large studios (included in the price) appropriate to their practices and will be invited to take part in the programme. The current residency term is up to 5 months.
