Description

Welcome to our beautifully-renovated, Grade 2 listed, luxury annexe, formerly the original stable block, adjoining our 17th century cob-built village home, within an easy commute to Exeter, by car or public transport.

The house is perfectly set up for digital nomads or those working from home, with desk space and super fast broadband.

The property features rustic beams, annexed ceilings, log burner, and a brand new, fully equipped kitchen.

‘The Stables’ has its own front and back door, a large shared porch area and a large shared garden with parking.

The new kitchen features an induction hob; built in oven, microwave, fridge, freezer and dishwasher; toaster and kettle; and everything else you could possibly need.

There is a large master bedroom with shower room (the shower has a beautiful view over the fields), a living room, large kitchen diner, and an additional room off the kitchen.

Furniture includes a smart TV, king sized oak bed, hanging space and drawers, sofa and arm chairs, dining table, desk, an additional dining area, and of course, lamps, coffee table etc.

There is also a large covered, secure porch for wellies, coats and logs etc.

There is private parking and a large shared garden - shared with us, the owners, and our very docile, friendly dog, Maurice.

We live in the adjoining house, and so you will no doubt see us coming and going, which is nice if you like to have other people around, but equally, The Stables is fully private, so you can interact with us as much or as little as you like.

All bills included, on fair usage terms.

It is a friendly village, with a great co-op shop, a pub and regular buses. I use to commute to Exeter daily by bus, and it is a lovely, scenic journey. I would arrive at work each day very relaxed from the journey!

The property has a very calming effect. It is currently let out on air b&b, and guests always comment on how spacious it feels.

It is decorated and renovated to a high end, to make this the perfect, peaceful retreat.

The property fronts on to on a bustling, village road and so there are milk lorries in the morning from the local dairy, and village traffic throughout the day.

The house was built hundreds of years ago and there is full central heating, but you will probably want to use the log burner in the evenings, in cooler months. We have also put curtains at all the doorways and windows to help keep it lovely and cosy.

There is no washing machine in the property, but we are happy to wash a weekly load, and there is also a great laundrette in Okehampton, where you will also find a Waitrose, other supermarkets and independent stores, pubs, restaurants and coffee shops, a cinema and gateway to Dartmoor National Park.

Crediton is also a short drive or bus ride away, with a regular farmers market, a strong sustainability movement, independent shops, great coffee shops, and supermarkets.

We would live in this side of the house in a heartbeat - it is so lovely. But we still have to renovate our own house, so we hope it can provide the perfect retreat for others.
