Large furnished double room available in quiet peaceful 3 bed seaside home in great location behind Brixham harbour, all bills included. Considerate 9-5 professionals / non-cat owners only please. The house has recently been put on the market for sale but in this area it can take 12 months or more to find a buyer so the room will likely be available for anywhere between 6 and 18 months.
No other current housemates, but from November to March the other two rooms are usually rented short term to professionals from a trusted local company who does seasonal contract work every year (offshore wind turbine inspection and maintenance). Over Easter and the summer holidays myself and my two kids 8 and 10 will staying in the other two rooms. The rest of the time, you will have the place to yourself!
The house has a central yet quiet location just 250 yards / 4 minutes walk from the historic Brixham harbour with all its fab restaurants cafes and coastal walks. There are 3 stunning local coves and beaches within 10-15 mins walk, an outdoor pool, half a dozen more beaches within a 10 minute drive, and beautiful Dartmouth a short ferry hop away.
It’s a recently refurbished Victorian terraced cottage, cosy but open plan so bright and airy, mod cons include induction hob, broadband, smart tv, dishwasher, washing machine and condenser dryer. All living spaces including living room, dining room, kitchen and bathroom (bath with electric shower over) are shared, there is also a second toilet downstairs, and a sunny outdoor courtyard garden on two levels. Council tax, water, gas, elec, broadband and tv licence are all included, unless very excessive utility consumption occurs. If you want to bring a bike there is a space in the dining room where a previous lodger used to store his.
The room is on the second floor and is a bright and extremely spacious double with super comfortable Casper memory foam mattresses, wardrobe, chest of drawers and bedside units.
There is residents' street parking outside (annual permits available from the council for £30 per year or I can buy day permits from the council at a cost of £1.50 per day).
PLEASE NOTE: I am very strongly allergic to cats (painful eczema skin reactions) so we can't take on anyone who works with or has lived in a house with cats in the last two years, as the allergens remain on clothes and other belongings for a surprisingly long time and then are extremely hard to remove from the house, so please respect this non-negotiable requirement thank you.
