Description
Spacious double bedroom overlooking south-facing garden with plenty of storage space and a small desk, and use of the lounge, kitchen, dining room, bathroom and the sunny well-sized garden. The current occupant is enjoying the blackout effect of thick curtains and that there is enough floor space in the room for her morning yoga practice, though there is also space in the communal areas for practice.
I am currently living in the second double room, which also overlooks the garden, but if the right person is interested in the 2nd bedroom I can move into the larger room. This room has built in shelves and hanging rail in one corner. Currently there is shelving by the bed, a chest of drawers and a bedside table, but this could be changed. Depending on your preference you could have a wardrobe, or the desk from the main bedroom, or both and the chest of drawers could go.
The house is a few minutes from The Seed (community whole foods store), Moor Imagination Collective (community events, arts, workshops), the library,, The Dragon Sanctuary, the Co-op and all the other shops in the town centre. 5 minutes walking takes you out into the countryside, with Kingswood and another smaller beautiful wood through which the Mardle passes about 10-15 minutes walk away, where you can see bluebells and daffodils, sometimes spot a heron, trout in the clear waters, hear the occasional woodpecker or encounter a deer. Hembury Woods is walking distance or a short drive away, with a very good swimming spot, though there is also a closer swimming spot on the edge of Buckfastleigh. Dartmoor is a 10 minute drive away, with the nearest beach a 30 minute drive.
The house is double glazed and the central heating warms it up quickly in winter whilst allowing for plenty of natural light and staying relatively cool in hotter weather. The floors in the room and throughout the communal areas of the house are wooden, so suitable for anyone sensitive to dust.
The use of the garden includes some possibility of growing some of your own edible or decorative plants.
A good internet connection is essential for my work so a good ISP (Zen Internet) is included, along with council tax and utility bills. There is a washing machine, oven, hob and your own fridge with some freezer space.
I am looking to welcome someone tidy and respectful with some interests in common, and who is clean-living (meaning no drugs, and preferably no alcohol and minimal or no use of ultra-processed foods).
If this sounds like it could be the home you are looking for send me a message and let me know a bit about yourself. I look forward to hearing from you.
