Double Bright Room in Cosy Quiet Cottage w/ Garden

Holly Cottage is in a quiet village 10 mins drive from Kingsbridge, 15mins drive from Totnes and 15mins drive from Slapton Beach.

You will most likely need your own transport to live here just for your own sanity.

The room comes furnished and is in a quiet but easy going household sharing with myself the landlord and occasionally my partner who is very friendly. We are very rarely around so this is mainly suited for somebody who is happy living on their own the majority of the time. There is a room that we use separately which we would keep private to ourselves and we would respect your privacy. The living room, kitchen, bathroom and garden are shared. Outbuildings are not shared but you would have use of the washer and dryer.

Ideally the person lodging would be someone who is engaged with the local community and interested in being conscious about the way they live and be caring about their connection to nature and people. I would be happy for this person to tend to a patch of the garden if they wanted to but this is not a requirement of them. We have some perennial plants growing and some potentially interesting projects taking place with the outbuildings moving forwards. For now it is just a simple lodging setup being proposed and I would love to hear more about you.

Neighbours are very friendly and we all have chats over our low fences as our gardens are all in a row and we have an adjoining rear path that connects all the houses and is shared. It is a lovely setup really.

The house comes furnished with a fairly well equipped kitchen: electric hob and oven, kettle, toaster, crockery and cutlery etc. washer and dryer included. Heating and hot water are oil and the house is generally really dry and does not suffer from damp/bad smells but is also a lovely characterful old cottage.

Hoping for somebody considerate who likes to make the most of the natural beauty of the area (beaches, river and moor!) and the communities locally in particular those who are linked to tending the land and growing in a mindful manner.

On street parking. There is a friendly pub in the village.

N. B. - If you are a tall person please be aware that there are low ceilings in the kitchen and some low doorways in the cottage - it is old! I am 5ft10in and I can stand up comfortably in the kitche.
