Description

The room is a spacious double room with good storage space, overlooking leafy trees and bushes. The house is in Broadfields, a pleasant and quiet suburb in east Exeter (St Loyes). The room has been refurbished and repainted fairly recently, with new carpet fitted. You would have sole use of the upstairs bathroom, with bath and shower. We would have shared use of the kitchen, dining area, and patio and front and back garden. You would be welcome to park on the driveway or store a bike in the garage. The house is about 15 minutes cycle into town. There are a Lidl and a Tesco's, both about 20 minutes' walk away, as well as a convenience shop within a few minutes’ walk. There is a regular bus service with nearby bus stops; Digby & Sowton Train Station is within 20 minutes’ walk. There is easy access by car to the M5 and other major roads. Ludwell Valley Park is a large expanse of natural parkland 10 mins away, ideal for walking or jogging.

As for myself, I am an easy-going young professional, working as a software developer at the Met Office. I bought the house back in the autumn of 2018 and have been progressively redecorating since then, having now repainted most of the house. My interests include reading/listening to audiobooks, singing, gym classes, and playing with my cat, Peregrine, a large and fluffy Maine Coon, who is shy towards most people but gentle in disposition. I try to do the Park Run most Saturday mornings and generally enjoy spending time outdoors, especially wild swimming when I get the chance! More recently, I have joined various ‘Meetup’ groups to have more hiking opportunities as well as to meet other folk in their 20s and 30s. I mostly spend time with friends out and about but do have one or two friends over for dinner semi-regularly. I have recently come out to friends and family and am looking to explore relationships with women. I am an introvert and enjoy my own space but would also enjoy a chat from time to time!

I would be looking to live with a female housemate who is a mature student or young professional and who works or studies away from the home most of the time. I would very much prefer someone who isn’t too noisy or very extroverted. I would really like us to be able to agree upon a simple cleaning rota so that we can keep the public areas clean and tidy. I am only open to folks who are hoping to stay longer-term (6 months or longer), although obviously we can have a trial period to make sure we are compatible! You would also need to be comfortable living with a cat! Do get in touch if you think this could be a good fit for you :)
