Description
A double room (for single occupancy) with its own study/dressing room will soon be available in a lovely shared house in the heart of St. Thomas.
The house is close to the local shops and the river and is in a quiet and peaceful residential area, but the city centre is only 10 minutes' walk away. There is super-fast broadband, and all bills including Council Tax are included in the rent.
The current sharers are aged 24 to 28. They're intelligent, kind, respectful and friendly, and they're looking for someone similar in their new housemate. They're independent and busy - not in one another's pockets - but like to eat and socialise together too. It's a really warm, happy household.
Their interests include reading, history, music, theatre, politics and current affairs, running, racquet sports, swimming, bouldering (I'm not even sure what that is), and just hanging out together and watching TV. It would make them - and us - very happy to find someone who wants to be part of a household like this, rather than just renting a room to sleep in.
The house itself is in a great location just off Cowick Street, with a gym, swimming pool, supermarkets, pubs, takeaways, and a post office just a stone's throw away. Transport links are great too: Cowick Street is on several bus routes, and it's less than a 5-minute walk to St. Thomas railway station.
The rooms are on the first floor. The bedroom has a double bed, a bedside table, a chest of drawers, shelves, and a desk. The dressing room/study has a huge hanging rail with drawers underneath, and another (built-in) desk. The rooms are at the back of the house so are overlooking the garden and very quiet. I'm trying to upload a video at the moment, but there will also be more photos soon!
The kitchen is fully equipped, including a dishwasher and microwave, and there are two big fridges, a chest freezer, a washing machine and a tumble drier.
The bathroom is enormous, with a bath, a large separate shower cubicle, a bidet, toilet and washbasin. There is also a separate WC.
There is plenty of other communal space, including a breakfast room off the kitchen, a sitting room with a 43" flat-screen tv and leather reclining sofas, a conservatory, and a storage room/extra office space.
The house is very comfortable and has a friendly, homely feel - there are pictures on the walls, books on the shelves, houseplants, warm decor and lighting, and a house stereo with speakers which can be routed to the kitchen, breakfast room or conservatory.
There is a small but pretty lawned garden to the rear of the house with trees, shrubs, garden furniture and a barbecue. Gate access from here to an alleyway leads to the road - ideal for getting bikes in and out.
There are residents parking bays in the surrounding streets. A permit from Devon County Council is required (and this is subject to availability) but there are plenty of completely unrestricted parking spaces within a short walk.
We are good landlords, accredited with South West Landlords Association. We fix any problems promptly - we only live 20 minutes away - and do everything we can to make sure you have a safe and comfortable home. All bills are included, but for your information the Council Tax band is D and the EPC rating is E.
Please get in touch if you have any queries or you'd like to book a viewing. I will respond to all enquiries.
