Description
We have a lovely room, suitable for single occupancy only on the first floor of this friendly lower St Thomas house. It has a double bed, desk, built in wardrobe, chest of drawers, lamp and bedside table.
The house is Victorian and so provides good sized rooms; we have decorated it in white throughout so the house is very light.
The other housemates are all professionals in their twenties or thirties. Altogether there are 5 bedrooms.
There are two bathrooms - one with a shower and one with a bath and shower over it, so there are plenty of washing facilities. The fitted kitchen includes oven, fridge freezer and an additional fridge, dishwasher, washer/drier and microwave. There is a courtyard garden outside for al fresco dining, and a lockable garden shed for bikes or other storage, with a path so you don't have to bring bikes etc through the house.
The house also has a large comfortable sitting room with sofa, chairs and dining table. There is an TV with Virgin TV, and broadband through Virgin cable wireless providing up to 200mb.
The rent is £540 per calendar month. All utilities - water, gas, electricity, TV licence, broadband, Council Tax are included. You will need to pay one month's rent as a deposit, and provide previous rental and current employment references ( we will pay the cost of this). We are looking for a minimum 6 month let initially. Your depoisit will be placed with the Deposit Protection Service, one of the government approved schemes.
NO COUPLES ALLOWED, due to licence implications.
The house is very conveniently situated for both the St Thomas shopping area and train station (about 8 mins' walk), Tesco (5 mins walk) and the Quayside area of Exeter (about 10 mins' walk). Buses travel along Cowick St and Alphington Road, both within a short walk of the house. St Thomas train station is also a short walk away.
One of the current tenants who left recently said: "It is a beautiful house to live in; I have really enjoyed my stay here." A previous tenant in this room, who left to take up a job elsewhere, says "Thank you for your help and support during the past year or so. You were very kind and supportive when I came to Exeter seeking a house to call home. The house has been great and the facilities well maintained."
