Description
We are quiet, gentle people who enjoy creative and active hobbies. Beau is a full time carpenter. Lara works part time in sustainability. Cass is a curious and joyful toddler who is in childcare 3.5 days a week.
We love cooking and eating good food and we like to share dinners with our housemate to touch base and catch up. We are easy going, playful, considerate and tidy. There is usually a creative project on the go between us. We both like our own time and space and would struggle with someone who is very extroverted although we do like good conversation and would like to be able to hang out with out housemate. Previous housemates have become part of our family during our time living together and we would like this to be the case again.
We have a 2 year-old son who is a chilled out daydreamer and full of joy. He sleeps through the night so you shouldnt be disturbed by him. We would like someone who is comfortable with children and will treat him like a human. You will never be left alone or given any kind of responsibility for his care.
We have been renovating our house and the spare room we are offering has been recently completed, newly painted and carpeted. We can be flexible with what furniture is included for your use. Currently, there is a desk, a single bed that converts to kingsize and clothes hanging rail and a chest of drawers. You'll also have a kitchen cupboard and fridge/freezer space.
There is on street parking and a small courtyard that is a surprising suntrap. Our green wall is in its third year bringing a nice bit of nature to the space. Many people have commented on how calm our house feels. The house is council tax band B.
We have 1 bathroom and a downstairs toilet and have never struggled making this work with a full house.
We have a large, well-stocked kitchen/ diner. We do eat meat but very occasionally so ideally you wouldn't be a meat-fiend.
We are looking for someone who is tidy, emotionally intelligent, good at communicating, will fit into our easy going family home and who appreciates their own space. Neither of us drink or smoke, although we wouldn't discount anyone who did as long as it was done so respectfully.
We are not in a rush to let out our room but are keen to find someone who is a good match for us and our home. We have previously found Masters students fit in quite well with our home but we are open to any walks of life. We would consider housing benefits too.
