Rooms are currently furnished although can be cleared. Both are double-rooms, in a private and quiet, off-road, 4-bedroom detached property, in the very sought after and idyllic village of Thorverton. I'm looking for a professional lodgers who are happy to tidy up after themselves and are happy to share in the general household cleaning as it helps us all in keeping a happy household together.
I only do a minimum of a 6 month rent or more now as demand is high.
Rooms are recently decorated with new carpets and curtains etc. Large bathroom including powerful shower and superb Jacuzzi. Oil-fired central heating plus open-fire; ideal for toasting marshmallows. Open dining room and large kitchen with use of all cooking facilities and white goods. Utility room. Fast broadband. House also benefits from beautiful private gardens that get plenty of sunshine with electric summer awning and iron patio furniture, ideal for eating out. Ample off-road private parking (so no broken door mirrors!) Use of some garage space for general safe and dry storage or perhaps a bicycle.
Central Thorverton location, just a couple of minutes walk from two great pubs with good food and both do great real ales. The village has a great farm shop too which has recently been refurbished and has all manner of good things there. We have a well stocked village post office with cheerful staff which is handy for a newspaper or cash-point for those essential extra beer tokens.
Central Exeter, University and rail system approximately 12 minutes drive away, Tiverton is about 10 minutes. Bus-stop to Exeter/Tiverton just a minute walk away. Stunning local views and pleasant walks on your doorstep, (part of the Exe Valley way) and ideal for a stroll or a more vigorous run. Cycling is very popular around these parts too.
Streetlights go off at approximately 1am which is ideal for budding Astronomers and make for some terrific meteor shower nights; (well, unless it's cloudy).
Local Spar shop with pretty much all you need there including cash-point, which is open until 10pm every day, two further pubs, just three minutes drive away. Superb local farmshop "Exe valley farmshop" that supplies just about anything food-wise to essential household items. Chinese and Indian take-away, Pizza, great Kebabs and general hot food delivered within the hour which is handy if you feel lazy.
I run my own company and look after pro-musicians and tour companies kit all day. Usually I have my head buried in a broken valve amplifier or Synthesiser, tinkering away in my workshop, or watching Tennis.
Please note that Thorverton is not a suitable place to live if a 15 minute daily commute by car to Exeter is too far. Also, I answer international calls by prior arrangement only via e-mail and I do not answer calls from withheld telephone numbers.
Crime is very low in Thorverton and as such it's a very happy, stress-free and enjoyable place to live but also lots of things going on to get involved with should you wish to and enjoy becoming part of the fabric of the village... It's ideal having Exeter close by. We have a superb neighbourhood watch scheme; everyone looks out for everybody here which is neat.
Also, before applying, do check and find out to see if you are allergic to Cats or not. I don't have a Cat at the moment as I've had the pleasure of a lodgers Cat but he is buying a place now. At some point I would like to get another rescued furry thing...
