My home is currently sat empty while it is for sale, I don't want to have Tenants in through the estate agents as they tend to look for a very long term set up. However it's been for sale all year, and even if I were to get a bid today - the process could take up to a year to complete anyway.
As we move into winter, viewings will drop and I don't like the idea of it sitting empty over winter so I'm posting a very transparent ad. The house is empty, no other occupants but the agreement would stipulate that you'll keep the place tidy and facilitate viewings if they crop up. It would be 6 months minimum if that suits you, and roll on from there depending if any bids come in. There's plenty of notice as like I said, the process of completion has taken me a year in the past.
I would continue to pay the council tax, and we'd have to see how the bills come out as I've rented with all bills included in the past and the lodger cranked the thermostat to full and left all the windows open! The lounge is furnished with my own belongings, it has a washing machine, fridge. No internet, you'd need a dongle. The bedroom is currently empty, but i can furnish this if it's essential. It would be preferable if you have your own bed / bedroom suite but this is flexible.
It's a warm, light and comfortable house, it was my home for a long time but moved up country for professional opportunities. I am an animal lover, and I know how hard it is to find somewhere safe for your animals, so I would consider pets if the right person were to apply. It would be really important that a dog isn't allowed upstairs (due to the carpets). My own dog used to sleep in a bed under the open stairway.
No furniture to be placed in the other bedrooms, the master room is a great size.
Someone could have a very private arrangement, with the whole house to themselves but it's essential that you're clean and are open to allowing viewings. I'm open to having a cleaning lady to come in and would cover that cost. I might have to visit and stay over for maintenance / work on the garden but it's unlikely I'd visit over winter.
There would be a solicitors contract and references essential.
