Totnes: central, warm, friendly, clean, calm

We are looking for lodger who would like to stay in a large double room with en-suite in our home. Initially this would be for three months to see how we get on.

We are at Baltic Wharf, in Totnes

You can see what the room is like from the photos. Everything is new and clean and the room is warm and comfortable. The shower is large and high quality.

There is a desk, good Wi-Fi.

In addition to the room, the kitchen is shared but not the living room. There is a table in the kitchen for eating and chatting.

We are a five min walk from Fore St which is the town centre; fifteen mins walk to the station.

You would be sharing with me and my soon to be 18 year-old daughter when she is home from her studies, an my partner who is around some of the time as she has her own house nearby.

We would prefer an employed person who does not work from home. If your work is “hybrid”, you will do the home working in your room, rather than the shared areas.

The room is not for a couple.

We are vegetarian except for fish and we don’t want meat in the house. There are no exceptions to this, so please don’t, as others have, ask us to adjust this. If this doesn’t suit you, you will be happier elsewhere.

If you like to live in a house that is kept clean and tidy, where we and you clear and up and wash-up as you go without leaving stuff out or thinking you’ll come back to it, and you naturally keep your room and en-suite clean, then you will be comfortable as our lodger. If any of this seems a bit picky, then we understand hope you find somewhere that suits how you like to live.

A note on the window in the room: the windows in the room are in the form of a four window skylight facing the eastern sky, so the room is brightly lit from mid-morning to late evening in the summer and less bright in the winter. It does open with a remote control and has full blackout blinds that are also electric and remote control.
