I am looking for a clean, respectful and friendly lodger to share my relaxed coastal cottage style flat during the week. One double room with wardrobe and the choice of a desk or chest of drawers is available to rent Monday to Friday with the inclusion of a shared kitchen, shared lounge, garden, bills and WiFi.
📍The flat is located just a stone's throw from Southbourne high street with all the shops and local conveniences you could want, including a Co-Op, Tesco’s Express and a wide selection of Cafés, Restaurants, a couple of pubs, breweries, bus stops and a library. It is also just over a 10 minute walk to the beautiful beach. Pokesdown train station is a 10 minute walk.
🏡 It is on the first and top floor of a converted house, meaning just one flat below. There is no private parking but free options on the roadside. Enter through the private gate and the large courtyard garden with some shed storage, options for outdoor seating and a retractable clothes line available for use.
Through the front door there is a small hallway before a staircase leading to the main living space. There are stairs between each room which is part of the charming, quirky cottage style building.
The kitchen features characterful beams above the fold down breakfast table with high stools, shared fridge freezer, microwave, toaster, oven and sink. Cupboard space for food items and storage available, but a little limited just with the kitchen being on the smaller side. Crockery, pans and utensils all available for shared use.
The living room features an L-shaped sofa, fold-out dining table with two chairs (back ups in the shed!), TV and a fireplace with a log burner. Firewood is provided for normal household heating. Excessive or wasteful use may result in an additional contribution being requested.
The bathroom is spacious and features a bath, shower, sink and toilet with bathroom storage available. Double glazing windows are in the workings for this room!
🛏️ The double bedroom is fitted with a standard double ottoman bed with comfortable mattress, mattress topper and mattress protector. There is a large pine wardrobe with a deep drawer. The ottoman style bed provides excellent additional storage as well as the shelves in the alcove opposite the bed. The lodger will have a choice as to whether they require a desk in the room or a set of drawers. To add to character, there is a disused feature fireplace. Please note, shelves will be cleared and bedding removed.

I recently took the leap into freelancing in marketing, travel and for the Saltwater Sauna. I am still establishing a routine but currently have a mix of working sauna shifts, working from home and working in coffee shops/co working spaces. I like to get out and about and a generally active person. I have enjoyed making small home improvements since moving in which I will continue to do (nothing major!!).
I am laid back but clean and tidy, easy going but respectful, and I would like my lodger to match for living contently.
