Double room in traditional farmhouse

This spare room looks out across our beautiful valley and is excellently located for work and leisure. Bills are included in the rent which you can pay monthly (£450) or weekly (£103.85).

The farm is 2 miles from the village with its community shop, pub and restaurant (and daily bus). The A40 is 10 minutes away and the A48, 20 minutes away (45 minutes to Swansea); Carmarthen is 25 minutes away. There is almost direct access from the farm into Brechfa Forest, known for superb walking, biking, riding and running.

Our spare room is in our 4 bedroom, traditional stone farmhouse. The room is a good size (about 12' x 12') with vintage furniture - double bed, wardrobe, chest of drawers, desk, chair - and a great view. We are happy for our new lodger to change it around as you wish. The best broadband is via 4G - vodafone and O2 - and not included in the rent.

The bathroom, downstairs shower-room, utility room (with washing machine and clothes airer) and large kitchen/dining room are all shared spaces. You are also welcome to use the yard and garden, with plenty of parking space for a car and room in the shed for a bike. We could even manage a horse!

Council tax, water rates, electricity, heating and hot water are all inclusive. If you want room for your horse, we'd be happy to negotiate a reasonable rate for grazing and stabling.

We work the farm (sheep and cattle) and have outside work commitments as well as making time to get away. The house is being refurbished slowly!) so it can get a bit chaotic but we do keep things reasonably clean and orderly for our sanity's sake!

We have manchester terriers who like to make their presence known to strangers before settling down once they know you're staying! For their sake, I'm afraid we can't take a dog or cat.

We are an easy going couple with years of experience of sharing our home with farm volunteers, students and working people. Our previous lodger was with us for 3 years and our current one for 18 months. She is leaving in mid November and the room will be available from then.
