Description
I have a spacious double room available (single occupancy only) in my house, located 15 minutes walk from Brighton centre. It has a good sized window, so is light and airy, yet being a terrace is warm in winter. There is ample storage space for clothes (3 built in wardrobes and a large chest of drawers) and belongings. Also, a double bed, plus space for smaller items of personal furniture.
It’s available from 28th December, but could potentially be available sooner if necessary.. We are looking for someone who would like to stay long term, but we rent on a monthly basis, paid in advance.
We all make use of the living and dining room, as well as the big bathroom with separate shower and bath. There is also a downstairs toilet. The kitchen and utility rooms are well equipped and you’ll have cupboards to store your food/detergents. We do not have a dishwasher or tumble drier. At the back is a lovely sunny terrace (if you tiptoe, you can see the sea!) which is great for lounging on or having a barbeque during summer months. Ample street parking is available with a permit. Being part of a terrace, it is warm during the winter, but the large windows make it airy in the summer.
As a house, we enjoy having a ‘calm place’ after a busy day and keeping the shared areas clean and tidy.
As the street is only housed on one side, it is generally quiet and doesn’t have a lot of through traffic. We love the area because it has a strong sense of community and lots going on. We are only a 3-minute walk from the entrance to beautiful Queen’s Park, there is a popular café around the corner and a convenience shop at the end of the street.
Public transport is close by, with a bus stop (1, 2, 7, 18) at the end of the road and only a 15-minute walk up to the train station. Within 15-minute walk you can be in Hanover or Kemp Town, at the Royal Sussex hospital, in the centre of town, or by the beach.
We are a professional and a mature student, and so have early starts and late finishes so are looking for a house mate who can empathise with this and who doesn't mind potentially not crossing paths for a few days! Interests include hiking, travel, food, art, literature and classic/cult cinema. Although we are respectful of one another’s space, we do enjoy catching up when we see each other. We try to be ecologically aware.
If you are a someone who is enjoys a clean, calm place to relax, with friendly and considerate house mates then this may be the place for you! If you’re interested, get in touch to tell us a little about yourself, and I'll get back to you as soon as possible. Please make sure you check your spam folder in case reply emails have gone there.
