Hi!
This is a short term sublet from 9th November 2024, which can be flexible around you, between 4 to 6 months. There may be the possibility to stay on after that if you want to.
Our house is a comfortable and safe space shared with three amazing people at the moment: Jocelyn, Chris, and Niranjan. We are all in our early 30’s. We are looking for a friendly, tidy housemate.
There is a fifth bedroom in the house, which may be occupied, or may be converted into a communal living room (we are in discussion with the landlord currently). We will know soon!
Kit is going to live in Spain for a few months to see how she likes it. She can be flexible on the dates because she works remotely so can adjust her plans easily. Kit is looking to rent the room temporarily at first, but she may decide to stay after that and vacate the room permanently. The room will be completely cleared out for you!
A little about the housemates you will be sharing the house with: Chris is a friendly and funny film buff who works in tourism. Niranjan is a developmental researcher who can be heard practicing music now and then. Jocelyn (Jo) always has all sorts of exciting projects, bakes bread, and makes a mean vegan chilli.
As a group, we’re chilled out, relaxed and respectful. We all love cooking and will often socialise in our spacious kitchen. We enjoy the occasional movie night, and someone is always milling around the kitchen for a chat. Saying that, we also respect each others space and have our own social lives outside the house. As much as we like socialising, we all value our own time.
The room is cosy but bright, on the east side of the house. It benefits from a lovely big sky-light, a nice deep cupboard/wardrobe and is fully furnished (double bed, desk, shelves, chair). There is a surprising amount of storage space. It has east-facing windows so gets plenty of light. If you leave the shade open on the skylight, you can gaze up at the clouds or stars from the bed.
The price includes council tax, water, and internet. Gas and electricity are on top and usually come to £30-40 per month.
The house has a big bathroom with separate shower and bath, an extra toilet, a washer and a dryer, a well kitted kitchen with a dishwasher and cooker with gas hobs, a washing machine and dryer, and good internet.
We have a weekly cleaning rota and we all work towards keeping the house neat and tidy.
We feel really lucky to have a place so ideally located in Brighton - London Road Station is exactly 4 mins away (though you can't hear the trains), and all the supermarkets and corner shops you could wish for less than a 5 minute walk away. There are plenty of very good pubs and cafes very close to the house and Preston Park is a ten-minute walk away.
