Description

Before you hit me up, a quick heads-up:
This place does not suit you if you're any of the following: Tory, anti-vax, TERF, climate denier, or a couple. Smokers, cool if it’s outside only. Pet owners, we're open to it as long as your furry friend is mostly silent.

PM me if you’re interested. I will send you a form with some questions to fill up. After that, we can arrange a viewing and a chat to check out if it's a match.

Here's what’s on the table:
An extra spacious, partly furnished ground floor room will be up for grabs from January 11. It's located near Preston Park, shared with two women. We’re on the lookout for a third—female or non-binary/trans.

House specifics:
- Smoke-free, three-bed setup. No garden, (but Preston Park is practically on our doorstep).
- Nestled in a quiet street in a pleasant neighbourhood.
Thin walls and creaky floors—quiet folks, you're in demand! :)
- It’s cute, well-lit, especially those south-facing bedrooms.
Compact living room, max capacity 4.
- A loo on every floor.
- Not a party house—I'm neurodivergent and noise isn't my thing.

About the room:
Rent's £540/month (bills included: water, internet and council tax which is band E). South-facing double room on the ground floor with a fresh double-glazed window. It's partially furnished—sofa, mattress, corner desk, clothes rail, bedside table, fabric shelving. No bed frame, desk chair, or closet, sorry!

Meet the housemates:
I'm Mel (she/her), 35, queer, vegetarian, neurodivergent, disabled, lefty, feminist, activist. Student, passionate about nature, sustainability, social justice, and queer events.

Alicja (she/her), 36, gay, vegan, enjoys reading, cycling, hiking, cooking, and singing. Professional, passionate about LGBTQ+, animals, and environmental rights.

Who we're after:
- A mature, honest, and upfront person.
- Ideally queer but not a deal breaker.
- Someone with lots of experience in shared living.
- Considerate and community-minded.
- Recycling pro (or eager to learn).
- Tidy and on top of cleaning responsibilities.
- No reminders needed for rubbish duty.
- Climate Justice and social justice conscious.
- Understands or is open to learning about neurodiversity.
- Stellar communicator and ideally empathetic.

Accessibility info:
Not suitable for those with mobility issues due to stairs. Flat street, small step to enter, 3 steps down to the room. From the entrance, loo on the right, 12 steps up to the living room, and another 8 up to the bathroom.

Closest corner shop 100m away, Sainsbury’s local 150m away, bus stop for the number 5/5A buses into town 140m away.
