Description
We are a friendly family consisting of Ray, Tracy, Theo and Grace. Grace lives and studies nursing in Manchester.
We live in a beautiful Victorian house that overlooks the picturesque Blakers Park in the Fiveways area of Brighton, which is considered one of the most beautiful parts of the city. Our son Theo recently graduated and works at Loreal in London. He only needs to be in the London office twice a week, so presently he lives at home with us.
We have welcomed guests from various countries who enjoyed a great stay. We take the time to ensure a smooth transition into both the home and the area.
Our ideal tenant
Ideally, we are looking for a male or female student or a young professional worker. Many students have stayed with us as we are within walking distance of London Road railway station for access to the Universities. We both work and have a structured working day so it would be helpful if we had someone who followed a similar daily pattern.
The house and neighbourhood
Our house is a pleasant 10-minute walk to London Road train station. It is then a seven-minute direct train journey to the University of Sussex campus. There are three railway stations that you can walk to from our house (London Road, Brighton and Preston Park).
Brighton city centre is a nice 20-minute walk. You can also walk to several bus stops within five minutes of our house. In this neighbourhood, there is a selection of shops including a Co-op supermarket, Post Office, several good pubs (Open House is my favourite), cafes and a deli.
The Room
The room is now available as our last student has recently moved out. We can discuss the moving in and moving out dates. There is a very comfy sing bed, study desk, storage and a view of the garden.
The House
The house is fully equipped with 217 MB high-speed internet access, Netflix and Apple TV which are all included in the monthly rent along with all heating and other household bills.
Use of the house
You will have full use of our beautiful home and newly landscaped garden. We will make space in the kitchen for you to store and cook your own meals.
Friendly Labradoodle
We have a dog called Louis who is a friendly labradoodle. Louis does not shed fur and is a retired therapy support dog and quite famous around Brighton.
Nicolo, a male student from the USA has just left us after two years. He had a wonderful time with us and left a note saying "your hospitality over the past two years has significantly contributed to my cultural experience of my time in England."
Agreement length
We can be flexible on the length of the room agreement and normally have arrangements for three months or longer. We can discuss this during our conversation.
Fiveways area
This is a beautiful part of Brighton with a lovely park and local shops such as cafes, bakery, supermarket, post office etc.
We are a friendly family and do not have many house rules other than these:
We are strictly a non-smoking house.
This is strictly a one-person occupancy which means no one can stay overnight.
