Accommodation available:
Single bedroom overlooking the garden in a lovely four bedroom house with a small garden. Large wardrobe space, two chest of drawers and desk, shared bathroom, second separate toilet downstairs. Wi-Fi. Plenty of storage for a bicycle. A double bed is available if preferred. A cleaner comes regularly.

HOMESHARE OPPORTUNITY

This lovely new Homeshare is available immediately for someone to live comfortably and affordably in the heart of Brighton, in return for providing some companionship and practical support an older gentleman, approximately 10-15 hours per week).

What the Opportunity involves:

In return for the low-cost accommodation (£199 per month), we are looking to match our homeowner with a kind and friendly female Sharer, who is happy to provide some daily companionship, share some meals and occasional outings, provide some help with meal prep, and and just to have a reassuring other presence in the home overnight. No personal care is permitted.

Our homeowner is 81 and is used to sharing his home as he has had sharers for the last six years. One stayed three years, one two years and the current sharer is sadly leaving soon for personal reasons. He has enjoyed the companionship of all of them over the years, and sharing his home has worked very well. He has a close and supportive family who are in regular touch and lots of grandchildren.

He has had an interesting life and career and has plenty to talk about. He was an actor, and also worked as a bookkeeper, and he ran a residential home for a few years.

His interests include current affairs, music, theatre, old black and white films, poetry, horse racing, listening to Radio 4 and more. He is sociable and goes out with friends weekly. He is chatty and interested in everything and anything, flexible and easy going, and loves the company of people.

He is in good health although his mobility is currently a little restricted as he is recovering from fracturing his ankle at the end of last year, and he also has some vision impairment. Despite this, he is still active, using a scooter to get out and about every day to the local shops and cafes.

The ideal sharer will be available to move in soon, working flexibly, or from home, or on a hybrid basis, and happy to provide some daily companionship and some simple help to our homeowner at mealtimes, mostly preparing or heating up an evening meal a few evenings a week, and some light housework and local errands. Our homeowner will be delighted to share some meals together too and go on occasional outings for a coffee or meal, or to the cinema or theatre.

**Cost: £199 per month**

This is a monthly facilitation fee for our matching and ongoing monitoring service. You do NOT pay any went to the homeowner.
Bills are included, but you may need to make a small contribution to the homeowner towards council tax if you are working.
