Friendly houseshare looking for housemate

We are looking for a friendly housemate to join our household, we have a lovely unfurnished double room situated just two minutes from the Duke of York cinema, and only 5-10 minutes from the north Laines, it’s perfect for someone who wants easy access to the buzz of brighton but the peace of living down a beautiful, tree-lined road only minutes away from Preston Park.

The house itself is situated between Preston park and Brighton town centre; it is only a few minutes walk to and from London Road Train station, a 7 min walk to the main station and a five-ten minute walk into town. Only half an hour away from Gatwick and an hour away from London Victoria by train.

As for the housemates - we’re a friendly bunch! The house was formed between lots of friends and when people join they tend to stay for a while. We sometimes have dinner together and do the odd social event i. e. cooking clubs, trips down the pub or out for dinner etc. However, we also all have our own lives and are busy with our own things so ideally we are looking for someone similar who is keen to socialise and get involved but equally has their own ‘thing.’

The house is made up of five people in total – the four of us currently here range from 30 to 35 and have a range of interests including:
- Sustainable living
- Fitness
- Films
- Music and gigs
- Hiking
- Gardening


One of the housemates works from home in the area of research engagement, one works for a local business, one works in the film industry, and another as a school teacher.

The house itself has two kitchens and we have a lovely garden with a mediterranean feel and we tend to do BBQs and socials in the summer months.

The house is owned by a private landlord so there are no extra fees. He is also super chilled so we don’t hear from him that often unless we need him for house things.

Cleaning wise, we have a cleaner who comes once a fortnight, although we do want someone who can tidy up after themselves of course!

All in all, we’re looking for someone who is easy going and up for a getting involved, we all love a deep conversation in this house just as much as we do a laugh!

The rent is £585 plus bills which come to around £80 extra each month so £665 in total. This includes fast WiFi, fortnightly cleaner, gas, electric etc
