Description
Single room available in a shared house near the top of Coombe Road with 3 LGBTQ+ people. We're flexible on age, we're all early-mid 30s.
The house generally has a friendly, quiet and homely vibe and we enjoy some communal activities, so if you're into cooking, crafting, gardening, watching films together or just a cuppa then that would be great.
We're not party types and like home to feel like a sanctuary so wouldn't really suit people who want to play loud music regularly or have full-on parties (obviously having people over is fine and is something we do often!). In the summer we do sometimes have BBQs or firepits in the garden with friends.
We're the kind of household who likes the have house meetings every month or two to iron out bills, interpersonal stuff, cleaning etc so the house would suit someone who's willing to be responsible and proactive about taking on their share of bills, general admin and cleaning to the best of their ability.
About us:
Currently there are 3 of us here – Bean, Jak and Jasper. All 3 of us are non binary/trans and queer. We're all neurodivergent and chronically ill or disabled in some way. Between the 3 of us we are doing a combination of art, recovering from/living with chronic illness, studying biology, working as a carer, videogames, cooking, crafting, nature walks etc. We generally have radical leftist politics and as part of that we try our best to be aware of various social issues.
We also have recently lost our house cat and will be getting a new rescue cat soon.
When:
Approx. August 7th
How much:
Rent is £500pcm plus bills which have historically been around £150 per month, however this may change due to price increases. Rent reflects the room size (single/very small double). Housing benefit accepted and you'd be on the contract. Direct landlord no agency fees. The deposit is £721.15 (based on total rent for property). Our landlord is requesting a landlord reference in addition to a guarantor
Option to join in with household Tesco online shop and veg box if interested
Accessibility:
The only bathroom/toilet is upstairs – 14 steps.
The house is less than 100m walk from a 37 bus stop
The house is up a steep hill
There is annual permit parking on street outside
As a house we are still covid concious, are up to date with vaccines and practice distancing in the house when necessary
Room itself (first 2 pictures) is on the first floor. One step from the street into the front garden but we have a wheelchair ramp if needed (one tenant is a very occasional wheelchair user).
The room available is at the front of the house and gets lots of natural light. It is possible to fit a double bed frame in the room, but it is a tight fit. There is a small wardrobe and small set of drawers (bedside table size) that are just outside the room for you to use.
We try to use eco and/or lower scent products in the house due to skin and sensory sensitivity
As mentioned before we're all neurodivergent and chronically ill/disabled in one way or another so we're happy to discuss ways to make living together as easy as possible and come to compromises together.
