Description
Hello Brighton ❤️ I am moving out of my lovely house in Hanover in the new year, I’m looking for someone great to replace me and join my housemates Xan, Rosie and Freya.
We have a double room available in our 4 bedroom house. It is a small unfurnished room with a Jack and Jill en-suite which is shared with Rosie. I have trialled both a high bed and a floor bed in my time and will attach photos of both for inspiration!
We live on a vibrant street with a strong sense of community and great neighbours... not to mention 3 excellent pubs a stones throw away. Where we live in Hanover is 10 minutes walk from Brighton centre and 20 minutes walk the beach, a 20 minute bus to the South Downs.
The kitchen, bathroom and living room are all downstairs. We have a walled garden. We love having BBQ's and dinner parties in the garden every now and again. Unfortunately we are full up on bike storage but there is a street bike outside.
We have a private landlord who is very chilled, but also makes sure we are happy and gets stuff sorted when we need it.
About the current housemates…
Xan (they/them) is a water engineer, recently gaining their PhD! They enjoy running, glass making, cycling, camping, hiking and meditating 👷🚴♂️🌿
Rosie (she/her) undertakes several money making schemes - a few examples include working in community gardens, kitchens, cafes, schools and being a full time artist. Enjoys biking, films, shared meals, yoga, and being a gorgeous social butterfly 🌈🦋👩🎨
Freya (she/her) former teacher in the process of a career change - by day, working in insurance, by night: dances, forages, dives, hikes, CrossFit and enjoys spending time with friends and family 🧑🏫💃🌊
We are sociable people who care about our home environment, it important this is a safe and inclusive home as we are all LGBTQ+. We like to keep the space tidy most of the time, we alternate cleaning chores fairly with a star chart and celebratory pint for the cleanest housemate at the end of the month. It is important to the house to feel comfortable, we usually plan time to spend together as a house once a month or so. We generally have quite busy active/lifestyles and enjoy our downtime at home too. We aren't a 'party house' but do have the occasional gathering of friends for birthdays, football, PRIDE and such.
Send me a message if you'd like to come and meet us and if you would be interested in moving in before the 24th, the room will be free from around the 13th.
Accessibility:
We do not have an intercom and are not a scent free home although people are generally mindful of not spraying strong scents in communal spaces. The room advertised is on the first floor and there is one flight of stairs to access, the communal areas (kitchen, living room, bathroom and garden) are down another flight of stairs.
Rent £595
Wifi £9.25
Council Tax £54.50
Water £21.64
Electric approx £75 every three months
