Single room in a family home

We are a family of four—myself, Jim, and our children Arun (16) and Maya (12)—as well as two cats, Lily and Skylar. We’ve lived in Brighton for over 20 years and have welcomed many international students into our home; our most recent student stayed with us for more than two years. We aim to offer a warm, friendly, home-from-home environment.

We have a fully furnished single room available in our spacious family house. You’ll have your own cupboard in the kitchen, along with fridge and freezer space for your food. You’re welcome to use any of our kitchen equipment, including pans, crockery, and utensils. The house has two toilets and one bathroom, which you would share with the children.

There is a shared living area where you’re welcome to relax, watch TV, or spend time with us. If you prefer some quiet time, there is a second living space, mainly used for working or playing music, which you would be free to use when available for watching TV or movies. The house also has a large garden and garage space where you can store a bike, and there is free on-street parking if needed.

A cleaner comes once a week to clean the house and can also vacuum your room if you’d like. You’ll have access to our washing machine and drying racks for your laundry.

We’re very close to Moulsecoomb train station, with regular services to the city centre and Falmer (ideal for the university). There are also good bus links nearby. A small parade of local shops is within easy reach for everyday essentials, with larger supermarkets close by as well.

We’re an easy-going, busy working family who enjoy socialising but also value downtime at home. Like any family, the house can be lively at times and peaceful at others. We hope you’ll feel comfortable and happy living here.
