Description

WE ARE LOOKING FOR A MALE HOUSEMATE, late 20s to late 30s. Please don’t contact me unless you fall in this category. Thanks x

1 double room is available in a four-bed, fully furnished, modern house.

The kitchen/tv room/dining area is open-plan with modern amenities, including Sky and broadband. The kitchen has been completely re-done in the last two years and has a double American-style fridge and a brand new dishwasher. There is a rear garden with new decking and an external grass platform out the front by the dining table. The carpets in the hallways and on the stairs have been completely replaced since September, so we're now a 'shoes-off' house! Haha...

There are two bathrooms between the room for let and two other rooms (both bathrooms recently updated) and a downstairs loo which has been completely re-decorated in the last year or so, with underfloor heating.

Our road is permitted (Zone F), and neighbouring roads are Zone 10.

All bills are included (apart from the parking charge) and we have a cleaner every fortnight which we pay for on a rolling basis.

I'm 30, and a journalist and an editor - I work from home in my office (see photos) and out in town in cafes and co-working spaces. One housemate (F) works around four days a week in a member's club just outside of Brighton. She's also studying to be an acupuncturist. My other housemate (M) also works mostly from home for a fitness and wellness company. Sometimes he works in cafes or in London.

Whilst working together in the kitchen can be fun at times, we try to keep it as a chill-out zone rather than four offices (haha)!

We're looking for a fun, considerate housemate who likes socialising at home and going out for food and drinks. My housemates and I have become friends and we're looking for the same in a new housemate. We're also looking for someone who is clean and tidy and understands hallways need to be hoovered and the dishwasher unloaded by all of us, not just two of us...

The house is full of laughter, so if you think you'll be a good fit, drop me a message :)

A testimonial from a previous housemate:
'During my time living at the address, Holly continually looked to make both small and big improvements to the house ranging from a new kitchen and washing machine to providing us with a heated drying rack. Holly is approachable, fun and fair I would highly recommend taking up a tenancy at the house'.

Council tax band D - this is apparently important for Spareroom now!

Just a heads up: following a house viewing with me (Holly), if I think you'd be a good fit and you're interested in the room, we'll arrange a drink with the housies so the others can meet you and you can meet them. I'm afraid I don't say "yes" to potential housemates until we're all in agreement - it helps to keep the "friends vibe" in the house. xx
