HOUSEMATE WANTED
To live in our friendly 3-bedroom house, from the 01/08/2016 (1-year initial contract, somewhat flexible move in date).
The rent is £ 400 per month, plus £50 for bills, deposit £600.

US
We are two female PhD students (at Sussex) in our late 20s. We are open-minded, vegetarian/vegan, social, clean and non-smoking. We keep a working schedule during the week but relax in the evenings, and enjoy our weekends. We are both foodies, love to be outside, and we are both very active.
Jemma loves yoga (she teaches and practices), acro, trapeze, swimming in the sea (year round), cycling, Hisbe (!) and cooking vegan food. She will be finishing her PhD (in English, focused on climate change) at the end of September, and going to Greece to do a training course in therapeutic yoga, and will also volunteer with a refugee organisation.
Mareike's PhD is in Political Economy focusing on global finance and its impact on social inequality and still has some time to go. She works out a lot (football, yoga, pilates, trapeze, cycling, running, swimming), loves (vegetarian/vegan) cooking, sharing meals and the occasional wine, and is active with Global Justice Now (Brighton and Hove group). She has lived in this house for almost 4 years now. It is a really nice home :)

THE HOUSE
The house is just off Lewes Road, so about 30 seconds from a bus stop into town or onto campus. It's a 5-10 minute walk to various supermarkets, cafes and the level, and around a 15-minute walk to North Laine and the train station, or 20 to the beach. Cycling is quicker of course!
We have a lovely open plan kitchen and living room, with gas hob, dishwasher and washing machine as well as all the usual appliances. We have a really nice little south-facing garden (we think it's the best thing about the house!), perfect for the summer - doing a bit of gardening and enjoying breakfast in the sun or a fire at night. There are a lot of plants in the house, too. We also have a very good relationship with the (private) landlord.

THE ROOM
The room is on the 1st floor at the back, has a small double bed with a memory foam topper, a wardrobe and a nice desk, double-glazed windows and faces south over the garden. It is the smallest bedroom, but also has the cheapest rent!

YOU
We'd like someone who is friendly and open-minded, who is vegetarian (or doesn't mind not eating meat in the house), who is environmentally-conscious, who can respect a work/fun balance, who is clean and tidy, who is respectful of everyone's needs in the house, and a non-smoker. You don't need to be a student, but a non-student will have to pay council tax unfortunately.

Please send us an e-mail if you are interested and let us know a bit about yourself and what kind of house share you are looking for.
We look forward to meeting you!
