Friendly and responsible, VEGAN, long-term flatmate wanted to share historic Georgian flat on Hastings seafront.
A beautiful double room is available to rent in a two-bedroom, top-floor flat in a grade II* listed Georgian crescent on Hastings sea-front. Situated mid-way between Old and New Hastings, the flat is close to all amenities, including the train station, and has a fantastic view over the pier to Beachy Head. The beach is seconds from the front door.
The room is four metres long and over three metres wide. Situated at the back of the property, it is very quiet, and looks out on the cliffs below Hastings Castle through a large sash window. It is furnished with a bed, wardrobe, chest of drawers, large desk, chair, bedside cabinet, shelving and lamps. Although the room will be yours, occasional access will be needed as the boiler cupboard and loft access are in the room.
The flat has been renovated using organic paint and natural floor coverings. It is well appointed, with a bath with shower; Indian slate in the bathroom and Italian cotto tiles in the kitchen; energy efficient washer-dryer and fridge-freezer; central heating powered by a gas boiler; and an electric oven with induction hob. The large sitting room is very comfortable, with wonderful views through the semi-lunar window over the Channel.
You will be sharing with me, the owner. I am a professional male who works in education, usually in the charity sector in developing countries. I am looking for an environment-friendly vegan, male or female of any age, to share the flat long term. The ideal person will be easy-going with a good sense of humour; clean and tidy; and sociable while being respectful of privacy – the sort of person who is interested in making the most of the cultural amenities of the area, but who enjoys a peaceful household. As I will be away working overseas most of the time, they will need to be very responsible, looking after the flat in my absence. The flat is non-smoking, and, sorry, no pets are allowed.
Rent is £500 pcm, plus share of bills (approximately £125 per person per month, including council tax (Band A), energy, broadband wi-fi, and water). Deposit is £500. EPC rating is C.
