Description
# Peaceful home & garden near Brighton
We're looking for a mature, considerate lodger to share our peaceful home. This would suit someone settled, respectful and independent who is looking for a genuine home rather than simply a room.
## The Room
The room is a comfortable single with space for a desk and storage, making it suitable for home working, studying or simply having your own private retreat. It is located next to a shared bathroom with bath and shower.
## What Would It Be Like to Live Here?
This is a peaceful, lived-in family home rather than a conventional house share. The atmosphere is calm, friendly and respectful, with everyone valuing their own space while also contributing to a warm and considerate environment.
Most days are fairly quiet, with household members working from home in charity, writing and community-support roles. The room suits someone who works from home or values a private, settled space.
The house is close to local woods and a golf course, with green space nearby for walks and fresh air. We share the home with a friendly dog and cat, who are very much part of the family, so animal lovers tend to feel particularly at home here.
Transport links are excellent. There is a bus stop just outside with buses to central Brighton, typically around 25–35 minutes depending on time of day. The A27 and A23 are both around five minutes' drive away. M&S and Asda are within walking distance, and there is a large driveway as well as free on-street parking.
While everyone is independent, we're not anonymous to one another. We appreciate kindness, communication and looking out for each other in small ways. There may be the occasional shared meal, chat in the garden or dog walk, but there is no expectation to socialise beyond what feels comfortable.
## About the Household
* Friendly household with a dog and cat, so animal lovers are essential
* Home includes an adolescent teen
* We all work from home in caring and creative roles including charity work, writing and community support
## Looking For
Ideally you will:
* Be a mature professional (40+ preferred)
* Be comfortable around pets
* Enjoy a peaceful, stable home environment
* Be considerate, communicative and emotionally mature
* Respect shared spaces and other people's privacy
* Be looking for a longer-term home
Remote workers are very welcome.
## Included
* All household bills included
* Council Tax Band D
* Fast Broadband/Wi-Fi
* Garden access
* Driveway and free on-street parking
Bills include council tax, utilities and broadband. Personal food and individual consumables are not included.
## Flexible Arrangements
There may be opportunities for reduced rent or discounts in exchange for occasional help such as:
* House-sitting
* Dog walking
* Watering or helping in the garden (if enjoyed)
## A Good Match
We're hoping to find someone who feels aligned with a quieter, grounded way of living rather than a transient or party-oriented household.
If you're looking for a peaceful home, enjoy animals, value mutual respect and appreciate the balance of community, privacy and independence, we'd love to hear from you.
**Minimum stay: 3 months**
**Longer-term preferred**
When replying, please tell us a little about yourself, your work or daily routine, and what you're looking for in a home. We're keen to find the right fit for everyone.
