Description

We are looking for a new housemate for our beautiful house in the Poets Corner area of Hove.

Who we are:
We’re 4 friendly and considerate women aged 35-40. We all have our own work/life things going on, but also enjoy eating, chatting or watching tv together every now and then, or going for walks to the beach. Our shared interests include live music / festivals, wellness stuff (yoga/meditation/fitness) and learning languages. We are all sociable but this isn’t a party house. We sometimes have friends to stay, but everyone is thoughtful and we always check-in with each other before anything like this. We are generally a tidy household and we all put-in together for a cleaner to do a proper clean whenever anyone feels this is needed.

Who we’re looking for:
We’d ideally like you to be someone we can get to know and hang out with as well as living with! But we are obviously respectful of people’s boundaries and space. When you reply, please tell us a little bit about yourself! What do you do? What are your hobbies? What is your current living situation and why are you looking for somewhere?

What is the room like:
The room is a lovely bright attic room with its own stairwell leading up to a small landing and the bedroom door. The room itself has two large Velux windows, lots of floor space and plenty of storage in two cubby areas. The room comes furnished or part-furnished according to the tenants needs, and currently it has a hanging rail, a bed, two shelving units, and two large and two small chests of drawers.

The house:
The house itself is across four floors, with a modern fitted kitchen including a washer-dryer and underfloor heating, a big comfy lounge with TV, and a separate study/dining room on the ground floor. The first floor has the modern shared bathroom also with underfloor heating, a heated mirror and large shower head, and there is another separate W/C.

What’s the location like:
The house is very close to the Hove shopping area of George Street, a 10 minute walk from Hove station and very close to bus links across the city. It is 10 minutes from a big Tesco supermarket and 15 minutes from a retail park with a TK Maxx and Lidl. There are lots of nice pubs in the area. The beach is a 10/15 minute walk and the Hove seafront is beautiful and peaceful (amazing sunsets!). Central Brighton is about a 20 minute bus ride from the house.

How much does it cost:
Rent will be £540 and bills come to about £110 a month. Water is about £80 every 3 months when we’re sent a bill. The deposit is £692. As this is a sub-let the deposit will go to myself as the contract holder to be returned upon moving out or at the end of the contract, and we can put something in writing to reflect this. The deposit itself is protected under the Tenancy Deposit Scheme (TPS).

When is it available:
The room will be available in October with flexibility on the move-in date to suite the right tenant. The current tenancy contract runs until September 2026.

Please send us a message if you’re interested! Let us know who you are and what you’re looking for from a house and we will arrange a viewing.

We look forward to hearing from you!!
