Rent and bills: £650 per month
I have a lovely double bedroom available in my peaceful, well-maintained flat in Hove. This is an ideal space for someone who enjoys a calm, independent living environment.
Inviting someone into my home is an important decision and I want to make sure it’s a good match for both of us. Short-term arrangements would work well for me, and I am open to longer-term term if we both feel happy after a trial period.
Important to note:
* I will be fostering cats, and my partner’s well behaved puppy sometimes pops round, so must be okay with animals.
* No guests - I also don’t have people over often, except my partner (male) on occasion.
* No home working and no night owls, as I have had issues with noise disrupting work and sleep in the past.
* I am vegan so no meat to be cooked using my pans/cutlery etc but I don’t mind non-vegan food in the fridge.
* Not comfortable with a male lodger, sorry.
* Not suitable for couples, pets, or smokers.
* Peaceful, respectful home, neurodivergent friendly.
The Room & Flat:
* Spacious double bedroom in a bright, well-kept flat on the second floor (no lift).
* The room will be furnished with a double bed, bedside table, clothes storage, desk/table and chair - if you have your own furniture, let me know as I can remove furniture to make space for yours (video shows the room unfurnished last year, no longer scaffolding outside the window!).
* Fully furnished shared spaces - kitchen/living room, bathroom, shared garden, large private coat/storage cupboard.
* Excellent location close to buses, Hove station, big Tesco and other shops, Hove lawns and the seafront.
More about me and what I’m looking for:
I’m a friendly, kind and respectful professional working from home in mental health and studying psychotherapy part-time, so I value a quiet, respectful, and independent living arrangement. I own the flat and have good relationships with other owners in the building - we all share the garden. I am regularly out of the house for placement work, volunteering, in uni one day per week, and often spend time at my partner’s flat. I also go away to visit family, so you will have the flat to yourself at times, although I spend a lot of time at home when work is busy or when I'm writing essays.
Bills included, but here is the breakdown of what’s split between us:
Gas and electricity - £80
Water - £120 (this is a set rate I’m unable to change as I don’t have a water meter)
WiFi - £33
While lodgers don’t pay council tax, I factor this into the cost of the rent (Band C - £180).
